I'm also wondering how revenue compares. Every one clearly seems to think that "perosnalized" ads are worth more; can you offer any insight into if you make more or less with personalized vs your approach? People seem to hav

And you know where you can? Warez sites. For all the garbage people throw at there users, it doesn't help. Last I checked, a cheap chinese HDMI splitter can strip the protection, though I heard murmurs about a newer version which st

Hmm. My situation might have a weird circumstance as well: I installed a new version of manjaro, which ships a profile by default with manjaro homepage etc. bookmarked. I signed into sync; normal one pulled down. The manjaro one is what

Blocking a user agent? Oh no, whatever shall we do? Thankfully, we can still just change it, though I suppose a really insidious web site could use feature checks.

For what it's worth, I've had a great experience with firefox for the past year (since quantum convinced me to give it another chance). All though, it recently basically factory-reset itself. Signed out of sync, extensions gone,

I don't think capitalism is perfect (though I think it could be significantly better with less regulation), I just think it's better than any other system that has been proposed. That aside, what has that to do with my original co

The fact that some people make one set of life choices does not mean that others should be forced to make the same. Most people don't want to live in poverty. It's really, really not fun.

Oh man. I've been hearing people complain for years that there was "suspicious behavior" before a lot of the school shootings. I was always nervous about the kind of precedent that set. Maybe just a bad day? Dog died? Su

That depends on how much horsepower you have on both ends. I run my vpn off of a cheap cloud vps, which does the job, but doesn't have a lot of cpu power. I probably tripled my speed from openvpn to wireguard, all though both fail to

The difference is that I don't have to have an "operation" (i.e. office) in a nation for my website to be accessible in that nation. Looking at a map of facebook offices [0], I don't see any in Kazakhstan (just to pick

I highly doubt America would ever extradite for such an issue. It is not a crime for an American citizen to refuse to appear in another nation before the assembly of another nation. Other nations may not legislate for or compel citizens o

Having government step in to fix things runs contrary to libertarianism. Firstly, whether "your data" is yours I would dispute. At most, it's produced by interactions between you and a company's software or server, so

With respect to slug, do you know if it would be usable with something like nerd fonts (custom glyphs)? My impression is yes, but I wasn't quite clear.

Literally the whole point of WASM is fast, sandboxed code. It's not a language, it's an LLVM target. So why turn LLVM IR into a native binary? It's basically the same thing as "native wasm", whatever that would m

"Run a fast, sandboxed bytecode outside of the sandbox by compiling it into a binary" so just a binary. I'm not sure I understand why you would use wasm here. No one writes wasm; you compile to it (usually from llvm ir). W

I've seen "millimeter wave" in tsa and heard it takes a picture of you without clothes, though they now supposedly obscure it. Creepy as all get-out. Anyway, could a hijacked 5g unit do this? Seems like a serious concern.

5g is a massive capex on the part of telcos due to density requirements orders of magnitude greater than 2,3,4g. Unit on every block kind of density is significantly cost increase; no way around higher prices.

For that, they'll have to get rid of caps. At least for me; I dont have one. And none of this "first 25gb is fast" nonsense. Wifi is where I dont have to worry about how much data I use, so I can download my 30gb vm image.
