I think this is going to be like that "unite the right thing", where a bunch of people talked tough on-line, but couldn't be bothered to get off the couch. I sincerely doubt this will turn into something serious. Edit: some

I've seriously got to look into running arch with a clear linux kernel. I knew they did some pretty serious optimization work, but this is definitely impressive.

Probably checking for a real disk? I guess it's got to check all the bus nodes for a disk, even if there's not one.

But the services will still have to do this, even without data collection. Otherwise, they'll get an incedent like when that lady sued mcdonalds for hot coffee being hot and demanded some stupid sum of money. The legal dept will come

Maybe I'd understand better if some one could define what this mythical "culture" is. The closest any one has gotten is copy-pasting marketing stuff from a prospectus.

That sounds more like a continuation of the trend toward turning prospectuses into marketing materials. "Looking" and "believing" don't translate into concrete action. All this is marketing-speak, and I don't

A serious university comp sci program teaches you a lot. This is part of the difference between programmer and software engineer. Going to college allows you to gain advanced kmowledge and ideally do reseach of your own.

Potential for growth, probably. I may have more ambition than to make more than $45,500 per year for most of my career. I'd rather make six figures, save, and retire to a comfortable lifestyle. I've worked plenty of 80-hour wee

KRACK was a nonce re-use, not a core protocol flaw. WPA2's flaws are more around un-encrypted control packets; i.e. I can de-auth you without having to get session keys.

The Alfa AWUS1900 is a nice model, but if you want something cheaper (and will put up with 2.4ghz-only), the TP-Link TL-WN722N is cheap, but get the v1 chipset! It's the best-supported with drivers on linux. Oh yeah, and you will prob

Quick PSA: You can do this yourself on cloudflare. I've got a sub-domain of my web site, "localhost.my.site". That resolves to localhost. I also added a wildcard, "*.localhost.my.site", which also resolves to lo

Wireguard is an excellent choice. Much simpler and faster (lower CPU, according to my bench-marks). It's also much better on windows, as it doesn't have to use the crufty old tun/tap driver. It's smooth and easy cross
