Are there any predictions for the next X-years of how high the seas might rise?

That's the trouble. From an employee's perspective, I'd like a job with less than 40 hours per week (but also be paid lesson for it). But full working hours are favourable to employers.

From my perspective, the best "hire" does 4 hours of work per week. So for other readers here overwhelmed at "hiring", it doesn't have to start big. It doesn't have to get big. But it can still free your time.

This gets into psychology, eh? I suggest reading through alljapaneseallthetime.com/blog/ He has excellent tips. For example, to paraphrase, "just open up a lesson, don't aim to finish one, because that'll feel like

I would give higher preference to an employment opportunity that required less than full-time work. But I haven't found any like that.

Great point. For me it means there are separate implications: 1. What you can do to help your body day to day (and longer term about where you live, for example) 2. What society and policy makers can do to improve the environment as a whole

From my understanding, the article means the "environment in which your body finds itself in" rather than "you're living in an environment and that's all the matters". What I mean is that much of your "env

I understand what you mean, although I don't take the same stance. You have an employment contract to work a certain number of hours. You have not leased your life to your employer.

It's not a negative. My line of thinking on it right now is if it feels so easy, then I wonder if it's stressing my body the same way anymore. Maybe a bit more randomness in my eating pattern might shake things up.

I find it's almost "too easy", during the work week anyway.

This may not be relevant on a "start ups" site of HN, but some people argue that debt is inevitable to grow any business, which I would argue against.

Do you find that managers dress up a little more than jeans in your bank?

On this subject, should you dress to look like a manager? While at my company the same dress code applies to all, the managers certainly dress more business-like than the programmers.

Sounds like a valid approach for personal information. I wonder if there's such a solution that would let you "share" passwords with other people, like LastPass lets you do.

If you can catch a person's email address upon their registration, it's the re-logging-in that would require them to switch to a different medium.

Exactly, that's where most implementations seem to decide against REST. I agree with you. The other parts of REST (if you agree that REST can be picked apart and still referred to as RESTful), as surely valuable.

The elephant in the room for me is that while HATEOAS is mentioned, the impression I get from posts from developers online is that people program against a pre-agreed API format. That's different to REST's automated discoverabilit
