Funny, at every corporation I've worked for, every department was still working on last quarter's features. FAANG included.

This is why observability is so important, regardless of whether it's am LLM or your WordPress installation. Ironically, prompts themselves must be treated as untrusted input and must be sanitized.

I've never once needed to block anyone on X, even when I had a bunch of mentally ill groypers reply to everything I posted. That being said, the shadow pool is a lot more effective at soft banning people than the block feature. I chuck

Removable storage should come standard with any mobile device. It's ridiculous to have to do these kinds of methods to increase storage.

There is still too much variance in the utility of LLMs. Hopefully, the uncertainty around utility will decrease while some concrete ranked score metric increases. Until that point, the variance is preventing the maximization of utility of

There just isn’t a need for legacy media anymore. Anyone can shitpost all day on X or Threads and reach an audience 10x that of AnandTech or any other traditional media outfit.

The way QNX handled hard faults was exceptional. Very important for certain environments like self-driving. We don’t have time for kernel panics when lives are on the line.

I agree with Jonathan Blow, everything should go through userland/userspace. Even the graphics stack. I can’t tell you how many times my workstation would freeze due to a weird USB driver implementation.

Much like Napster, his only real crime was success. If nobody or barely anyone used Megaupload, he wouldn’t have been in as much trouble. He paved the way for streaming and digital distribution of media. Megavideo in particular had the high

I think you're on to something here. There is definitely a much looser standard for whiteness in the United States. The one drop rule was used only w.r.t. former slaves. But the definition of whiteness in the United States seems to be

Part of the problem is codesharing, you have to use two flight numbers for the same flight. The whole practice is confusing and I don't think it should be allowed, except in the rarest of circumstances. The seat quality is also suspect

I could really see this taking off. Sagemaker is garbage and hugging face interfaces are laggy and buggy. The future is on-prem bespoke models you can run on commodity NPU SoCs. On my M3 MacBook I’ve been running local models like Llama-70B

The European Parliament was able to pass GDPR. Keep in mind the member states were blood enemies for centuries. If they can put aside their centuries long blood feuds to get sh*t done, Congress has no excuse.

This obsession with extreme diets is a very American phenomenon. The human body will adapt to any diet that's given, it matters very little in practice. Just eat sensibly and listen to your body. That's pretty much it. Queue the h

This is an elegant solution to the problem. We don't need to treat users as children, but at the same time we should avoid potential foot guns with sensible defaults. I'd argue that even `su` is not needed, if you need to be root,

Very poignant, especially in our age of LLMs. LLMs “speak” with no tongue or mouth, and “hear” with no ears. It is very Masonic, in the sense that LLMs are in a state of unity with opposites.
