Ah right, forgot about the newline specification. I guess, for reference, the smallest string I can come up with to get Cowboy to spit that error message is '\x20\x20\n'. Parsers are fun.

Thanks for the info. My perception was driven by the fact that every job ad from the UK I've with an openly advertised salary that I've seen has that salary in the range of 25~35k GBP while requiring the candidate to live in Lond

My (uninformed) view of the UK is that the reward for being in tech there is dismal, real money is hard to come by, pays and benefits are just enough to scrape by, etc.; the article brings up the point that while historically Scotland has b

>you would be basically open-sourcing something that is closed source From my perspective, reading optimized builds is practically the same as reading assembly. In my opinion, it'd be easier to work from an unstripped mac/linu

I personally would prefer a spreadsheet that treated null as the identity for whatever function it was acting as an input to (0 for addition, 1 for multiplication, e for exponentiation, Identity matrix for matrix multiplication, etc.), only

To add, I'm personally not bothered by it. I find it impossible to work or sleep on flights and have chalked off time spent on airliners as a (relatively) short period of being mildly uncomfortable for the purpose of getting somewhere

I thought the cancellations were for the purpose of looking statistically similar to the average rider. If that's the case, it's no difference to the drivers.

"Next-gen" is a bit misleading of a description: the GPU (GTX 670) that this scene is rendered in real-time on has about 30% more power than the GPU in the PS4, although it was released 2 years ago. The CPU used to bake the ligh

Ah, but then the data wouldn't fit into 1.6MB! That is to say, going the other way is a bit more computationally intensive.

I mocked up something similar [1] a while ago, although operating on fixed-length integers instead of db keys and not designed with any regard for the "decryption" process. I'm curious if it's flawed in any significant

It's a bit irrelevant to go down this road since patio11 has quit direct consulting, but from what I've read, patio11's path to (consulting) success goes like this: patio11 likes teachers, makes bingo card app, charges for it

I did this same thing in Clojure a while back as a way to introduce myself to the language. As you can see in the card definitions from that [1], I arrived at something close to your proposed idiom. All spells and battlecries are function

I saw the second snippet in the post and thought, is the time you lose in that string.format significant? The real question follows: what do you use to benchmark this kind of code with consideration for luajit and also for your server arc

300MM is well inside brute force range for even a single CPU (as noted in the article, md5 is cheap!). One issue is figuring out which IPv4 address you wish to impersonate; sites don't give that information out so readily in 4chan

>IPv6 can be adopted without a performance penalty Sadly, in my case, this is untrue. If I enable v6 on my Comcast home connection, I see routes with consistently higher latency--around 50ms more for paths within the U.S. such that even

My pattern is the opposite. At home, Comcast routes v6 traffic so poorly (a 50ms latency increase in most routes) that I have no choice but to disable it. However, at work, I enjoy low-latency v6 connectivity.

With user-individual salts and assuming 100ms for a password trial, 100ms * 150e6 * 10e3 is approximately 4750 years, and while this can be done in parallel, it's not exactly a small amount of resources you'd have to devote to get
