The worst part of the new wave of vibe coders is their confidence.

This has been the argument since day one. You just have to try the latest model, that's where you went wrong. For the record I use Claude Code quite a bit and I can't see much meaningful improvements from the last few models. It i

Apple charges so much for RAM upgrades that they could probably not even increase prices and still be fine. They won't but they probably could.

I break everything down into very small tasks. Always ask it to plan how it will do it. Make sure to review the plan and spot mistakes. Then only ask it to do one step at a time so you can control the whole process. This workflow works well

These announcements and "upgrades" are becoming increasingly pointless. No one is going to notice this. The improvements are questionable and inconsistent. They could swap it out for an older model and no one would notice.

It is incredibly annoying that instead of adopting JpegXL they decided to use UltraHDR. A giant hack which works very poorly.

Adding additional syntax to a language for this case seems bonkers to me. People can just write 0..10.

How are they not SOTA? They're all very similar with ChatGPT being the worst (for my use case anyway). Like adding lambdas and random c++ function calls into my vulkan shaders.

This has been said about the release of every model in the last couple of years. Personally I can't even tell if this one is better than 3.5. I actually found that one more useful.

They're very good at things have been done a million times before. I use both Claude and Gemini and they are pretty terrible at writing any kind of Vulkan shader but really good for spitting out web pages and small bits of code here an

On many EVs (including Tesla's) you can measure the health of the battery. How are you going to measure the health of an ICE engine or transmission?

Not sure if you're being intentionally dishonest. It makes no sense for ICE cars to be in good working condition and EVs to have dead batteries. If anything I'd be much more worried about an engine/transmission dying in an IC

I think the processing is getting worse. I look at photos I took with my Nexus 6P and they look much nicer than my Pixel 7/9Pro photos. At some point everybody decided that the most important thing about photos is preserving as much dy

Often I think it's largely based on the types of food people grew up with. Meat and potato diets seem to struggle with reducing the meat part of their diet. People often try to eat the same stuff but substitute meat with bad imitations

The latest batch of LLMs has been getting worse in my opinion. Claude in particular seems to be going backwards with every release. The verbosity of the answers is infuriating. You ask it a simple question and it starts by inventing the uni

Well done, this is really cool. It is nice to see more modern C++ in use. The codebase is really easy to read and understand. People here need to get over the fact that it's not Rust. I use C++ for my own projects because I enjoy writi
