Is there even any virus in the wild that could infect a 16-bit executable anymore?

I was also told this, but my doctor said the biggest benefit most people can get immediately is to start avoiding foods that react negatively on a sensitivity panel. Or just do an elimination diet with a long period of gradual reintroductio

Seems like every order I get is 4-5 days shipping regardless of prime or saver shipping. Don't see the point in paying anymore tbh. It definitely was 2 days before COVID, ever since it's never gotten back.

Same thing happened to me. I was eating bananas, beef, coffee, etc. then I got some sort of viral infection. My thyroid became inflamed for a couple months. No doctor was able to find anything wrong with me. Little did I know, having postvi

Ran across Orcad CIS for the first time last week while downloading symbol files from Intel/Altera. Trying to convert to Altium. Is there any documentation that exists for sucking out symbol info or do I need a full install of Orcad?

Congratulations on the huge job! Especially stripping the rubberized paint. Very fortunate that enough parts could be salvaged to make a working unit. I am in the middle of refurbishing some Sony VAIOs as well. These most commonly have LCD

I was on a flight where the ADS-B transponder failed (the captain told us after takeoff) and they got approval to change routes, lower the flight ceiling and we continued on our way.

That is exactly how it works actually. There are a series of ears around the door, and the pressurization of the cabin forces the door out and against the airplane frame mating ears. The more it pressurizes, the greater the force jamming th

CauseWay DOS Extender was released open source to public domain in 2000, and the source is on GitHub, if you're curious about the implementation. It supports builtin EXE (LE) packing as well.

Congrats on your achievement. I have seen many, many softcores run on FPGA (usually from a beginner to HDL and unoptimized as a result) however I have never seen a softcore impl this performant, enough to run quake at 40fps. For logic usage

Not an expert at all, but there is a complexity wall when you get to newer Flash with ActionScript (3)? My very rough guess is that post late-2000s content frequently needs these features and it's at least an order of magnitude work to

This is the way. Typical Mountain House meal is 650 calories and requires 1.5 cups of boiling water. High in sodium but overall not too unhealthy. Costs about $8 per meal.

This is true, you will also be constipated and have an epic time on the toilet. MREs are designed for people in survival conditions and if you aren't, it'll be a fun ride. But they are the most calorie dense way to store ready to

I'm all gung-ho for FPGAs since that's a huge part of my job, but I have to admit that GPUs will always be easier, faster, and more convenient for just about everything you'd want to do as some type of accelerator. There woul

You are correct in your points, I'd just like to add some more info. The bitstream format is an obstacle but can be reversed. It's already been done for the Xilinx 7 series, lattice ecp5, and others. However, that does NOT solve t

Very correct, routing delays are the bane of my existence as a FPGA dev. Nothing like filling a chip past 80 percent and watching Fmax fall off a cliff.

What he means is that almost all serial interfaces at the PHY layer are derivatives of FC's 8b/10b coding. You turn bytes into symbols and optionally apply some whitening with an LFSR. Much like a radio TX. Then some additional tr

A typical high end 18650 cell in 1997 was 1600mAh. A typical high end 18650 cell in 2023 was 3200mAh. So it took us 25 years to get a 2x density improvement in li-ion cells. We desperately need higher density but it is very slow going. The
