If personal rapid transit did work it would be better than a mass transit alternative. But I think it's pretty clear that surface streets and cars won't do this.

But unless you’re going to the same destination mass transit isn’t ideal. If there are enough shared routes, and the cost advantage of shared transportation add up to a big enough benefit than it works. But my ideal transport is teleporti

I kind of want to send these ‘environmentalists’ pieces of asphalt because that’s what their actions here are going to cause the entire planet to be covered in.

When I read the title I was thinking that they had just released the final plans, like a secret album drop. This is much more disappointing.

Could you elaborate on your experience? I’ve heard a lot about how well google got into schools with gdocs and chrome books but I’ve never heard much more.

I usually use openCV capture. Which is nice because it works pretty well. Adding some capture modes like the one I listed would be nice, but I see how a separate capture software module might be better. edit: The CV part isn't really

I wish there was better software supported robotics cameras. You can buy small csi-mipi modules to capture frames from a ton of imaging sensors. But all the nice tricks Apple/Google use to improve image quality like capturing multipl

The problem here isn't that the FAA is regulating, we do need rules of the road for drones. The problem is up until this point they didn't have the legal authority to do so. From 2010-2014 the FAA put out some draconian memos an

I interned at Volvo and it was a very positive experience. Sweden has a very different work culture. And I learned a lot.

I had a lovely time interning at a Swedish company in Sweden, but not having Swedish EU citizenship made the company want to hire me at their US facility. Maybe we could trade identities?

Can't you speed up write speeds as you add in each memory chip in the sd card? It's like how raid1 with 5 drives is faster than any single drive.

The project I'm working on right now is with a FLIR tau 2 thermal camera. Our university got it donated but the only decent expansion board is 1400 euro so i figured I might use that budget to build my own. I basically just need to co

Ok but if 200 planes need to be upgraded so that they don't get shot down by ____ new weapon. It's not possible to build an ASIC for this, so you're probably looking at doing something on an FPGA. You need a few FPGA hardwar

Any software precludes security reviews in defense work. My group wanted mediawiki to run an internal wiki behind the firewall and it took 18 months to pass and my boss had about a dozen meetings and countless emails. There are cases where

I think that the biggest loser is going to be IBM clearcase. Especially in government/defense work the developers want to use git, but can’t get it because of lack of security reviews. I can guarantee you that Microsoft sales people ar
