What does the NSA/privacy issue have to do with your switch? I'm curious to know how using free software could possibly protect you from the current NSA issues that have been brought to light. You are still using the public Intern

I agree. But, I am glad I didn't get my way in trying to bring this into the hospitals my software is installed in. I tried for a year or so to get some acceptance. This would be really bad for me now. But, I bet it's bad for othe

In this case, wouldn't it be acceptable? I mean, if we stay in the context of a burner and security is the main feature, would it matter so much if it was like basically talking on a half-duplex voice call? Again, if the main goal is s

It's not that no one "should" be compelled. The constitution states that no one "can" be compelled. Huge difference. "Should" implies choice. There is no choice here. I hope the court sees this as a circumstance where the person is being co

I'm quite stoked about this app. I've been using PonyDebugger for a few months now and it has been really helpful. It's rough but sometimes that can be enough to aid you in major ways. As for Reveal, I had it installed in two of my apps in

I don't believe enough praise can be given to "The Little Schemer" (and the series). This book is wonderful at teaching recursion and is extremely entertaining. I've run by only a few books that can teach a programming skill like this witho

Love that book! When I first started looking into Clojure, and Lisp in general, this book was announced. I had it on day one of its release. It's a really fun and informative read and deserves more readers.

I am with you, and I don't mind the harshness of the title. It explains exactly how I feel. This "download our app" trend has abolutely been ruining my browsing experience on my phone and tablets. I've used other browsers that allow user ag

This video reminds me of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bt9zSfinwFA This response is humor, and not technical. So, don't follow if you don't feel like laughing.

This is just an observation and not meant to be an insult. I am just using your comment as an example of why I believe you are incorrect in your final statement. In your post you have several misspelled words (smalles, programms, abbilities)

That's actually a pretty cool photo. I was staring at it, as my new background, and was thinking how amazing it is that their mutual gravitational influence is actually enough to keep the moon in its orbit. I guess I mean it's hard to tell

How about you just imagine the ship is rotating on an axis for artificial gravity generation. Then, if you were looking out the window, you would see the starfield whizzing by. :-) Edited for smiley.

Replying to myself as I see the title has changed. That makes more sense. Now my comment seems out of context. I had no idea you could change the title of a submission, especially after people commented on it. That's actually scary.

So, basically your data could just be showing that 25% of your install base have very small codebases. One of my applications, as an example, has 52MB of jar files. That's compressed data. Now, I am not sure how that eventually equates to h

Umm. I trying to figure out how that title comes from what I just read in that article. The article shows a couple graphs comparing the max heap size and the max PermGen size of ~1000 different installations of java application servers. So?

Actually, I believe the actual prefix of NS originally meant Next/Sun whe Next was working with Sun Microsystems. But, who knows? We need one of the original developers to help clear this up.

I've never looked at the difference between the three. But, from what I have read/understand, is that IDEA Ultimate can do anything RubyMine or PyCharm can do via their respective plugins. Here's an old doc from JetBrains about RubyMine and

That will probably never happen. The tool is geared around iOS and Mac development. You have to have Apple's SDK, on a Mac running OS X (which is the only 'legal' way). You'd never be able to compile or run the code.
