One point of note is that you selected "bug" for the category/tag for your feedback. By almost anyone's definition of review vs. bug report there is a big difference and posting a bug report as a review doesn't ensure that the developer wou

With PHP 5.3.9 or 5.3.10 and php-fpm a new method of process management called ondemand was introduced that handles this use care very well. With a super short idle timeout (a few seconds) this could work very well for shared hosting, but I

Anyway to make this not require a MySQL DB? It'd be awesome if it didn't require any DB at all to run.

I've been wanting to use Bootstrap with some other CSS syntaxes for awhile, and I was wondering how you manage the conversion from less to scss and stay up to date with the latest Bootstrap changes?

I actually think iOS is a terrible example, and that Apple apps are undoing years of good design lately. One of my favorite features about my Android phone (despite that fact that all the apps are still laid out however the designers feel)

Anymore, I consider system wide package installation to be a liability, not a feature. The whole point/purpose of npm or composer is local installation. Look at the mess of Gem/Bundler and then you have to factor in that rvm and rbenv are b

The problem is that Ruby doesn't solve the package problem either. Gem and Bundler are a mess, and using something like rvm or rbenv to fix this is an even bigger mess (although it works). If you really want to see something a bit different

Note that this is not a traditional repl in the style of of Python or IRB that evaluates each line individually. With php -a you have to enter an entire script, and then exit to run it, and which point you can no longer interact with the va

Most of the services mentioned in the article can add "charges" to each months accounting for things like usage based systems. Of course if you're payments are completely variable, you'll have a hard time calculating with any service that c

While I'm not saying that's not a real concern, I don't think I've ever seen code that would blow up from that. I think this comes from the concept of "limited surface area" that the OP outlines.

I've wondered for years why GitHub doesn't provide a license field as part of the repo along side name and description. I've been known to pester people after they point me to their repo, and ask them to add a license before I'll use their

I would say that one major distinction is that Github is a tool designed to manage repos and make sharing code easier, with a ticket tracker bolted on. The whole Altassian suite is centered on JIRA, so it's more of a ticket tracker with cod
