"With Future Fetcher Dan Abramovich pushes for interacting with objects and it's methods directly rather than." Rather than what? In fact another article linked ends pretty abruptly too.

Lots of people mentioning you can maybe debug a remote process, but none suggesting what to do about completions. Maybe you can use bind mounts, but I'm not sure how well that works in practice, or with eg a package with a native compo

I'm confused, and am not very knowledgeable about FP (though I am very interested in it). Can anyone explain how the 3 bullet points in the issue aren't already in Promises? > Promise.of(a) will turn anything into promise. This

So you picked an "awful boilerplate" where you "don't understand how any of it fits together" and that's a failing of Electron?

Wouldn't it have to? It does stand for JavaScript Object Notation after all.

Wouldn't it be setting both "max-width" and "max-height" to 100%? Or the background-image / background-size hack.

Sucks that the best approximation is an always-on-top clock. It's in the taskbar, they have functionality to show / hide the taskbar, they should combine the two.

Reddit automatically locks old posts doesn't it? While necro bumps in forum threads can always be a problem, it isn't inherently one.

I'm not so sure, unless it's a total misunderstanding from the person chiding them. Sketch doesn't add to final size. Neither does Gulp. Sass and Nunjucks might, but it's a website. They tend to need HTML and CSS.

This app: - uses more RAM than an electron app - takes up more disk space than an electron app - looks no more native than an electron app - resizing is jankier than an electron app So where are the advantages again?

I wasn't able to get the netrc file working, my password does contain spaces which seems to be an issue for netrc parsers. In fact looks like I'm not able to get netrc or SSH keys working.

I bought an LG TV recently, the only "smart" thing about it is Google Cast is baked in, which I think is acceptable. The only reason I want a dumb TV is to hook up an apple tv / google cast / computer running airserver.

Agreed that throwing Flow/TS types on top of a library that wasn't built with them leads to frustration. There is, at least, an ongoing effort to use TS internally in MUI: https://github.com/mui-org/material
