Please prefer the much more straightforward `Number()` native constructor. Also, not sure if the title was edited after submission, but the article is titled "I prefer", not "Prefer".

There's a bit more to it than that. The article touches on the fact that whats on npm doesn't have to match with what's on github (which is true for any package system that isn't 100% backed by source control).

Docker for Mac very much uses a VM. It's as lightweight as it can be (using the OS-supplied hypervisor, not something third party), but still a VM.

Sony had already cancelled, so there's no difference to them. I don't see either company delaying the release due to E3 being cancelled. Other supply line constraints from the same root cause, maybe.

There was (and still is) YouCompleteMe for Vim, which is the idea of a code-completion server with editor plugins, so it's definitely a thing people had thought of. Microsoft really took the ball and ran with it, and I'm very grat

Another thing I really like about LSP is that formatting and linting are built-in concepts. Using something like https://github.com/iamcco/diagnostic-languageserver you can bridge existing command-line tools that only

That works after you've purchased it, but I think the person you're responding to is looking for hints before purchase.

My experience hasn't been anything like this. Countless upgrades, rarely a change to configuration. Any changes that did happen were communicated. Nor with gitlab-runner (and I even fork it to add stuff), and use docker-in-docker.

You deal with the same model interfaces, just as you would in any client / server pattern. But that's usually the extent of it.

For me, it's: - Easy validations (either with a single schema object or field-level) - Easy / reusable form controls - A context containing the current form values, errors, what's been touched by the user, and methods to mani

It shouldn't be much of a concern if you're already writing JS, which usually already comes with judicious use of the linter.

With Sidecar (+ a supported Mac), you can use your tablet as a second screen and apps can access the pencil. I can't comment on the experience.

JS files can use JSDoc, which typescript handles (when you edit a JS file in VS Code, you're already secretly using typescript).

macOS also has it's own PiP mode, which is nicer than what Chrome has. I wonder if FF is using their own implementation as well.

Take YouTube for example. It's difficult to resize the window so it's _just_ the video (they size things so you always see the video + title). With a proper PiP mode, that's no longer an issue.

Conversely, in Nova Scotia, I can go to my closest dispensary, wait about 5 minutes in line (inside a surprisingly posh store), pay with a simple tap, and I'm on my way. The biggest issue here is the waste from packaging.

I'm all for minimalism, but the very first code example is a bad example. It's saying "look at how small your error handling can be" without mentioning that now you have to build something to inspect said errors. There i
