Great take. What I find most difficult is how humans naturally want certainty one way or the other, or an opinion either on this side or this side. Side with us or against us. As opposed to reality, which has nuances, probabilities, and pro

QR codes and having a phone for menu is a brutal experience. Personally I go to a restaurant to have face time with people, the phone (or tablet) is a wrench in that, and not worth it. I’ll pay a premium to not use an electronic interface.

Why do you hate slippery slope arguments? They tend to be right. It’s why we have the saying - the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Edit: rather than “tend to be right”, I should have said can be right given the right argument an

Is there a good open source data on this? I know companies use things like Redford, but I believe they’re incentivized to under estimate the averages.

I’ve taken to look at these programs as a jobs programs, and as an empire tax paid to the US (eg. F35 project). Basically it’s three birds with one stone, you develop weapons and technology (necessary given international affairs), you provi

Good luck. The positive way forward is an open source identity service that’s separate from these publishers (Facebook, TakeTwo, etc). People will flock to whatever metaverse they want, on demand. Look at GTA V, what an incredible world. Be

I don’t know for sure, however I presume if you have a compromised browser extension or malware on your device then the cookie can be extracted. And then they’re sold on marketplaces for black hats.

The density doesn’t make sense. Imagine all the congestion on highways, instead you are on a rail road line.

I'd say you could gain some efficiencies. I think the same governance structure that Apple has can be implemented for the most part in a DOA (e.g. shareholder voting, board assignments, CEO hiring, dividend distributions). The hard par

It'd be interesting to look at pricing by city. I bet they implement predatory pricing, i.e. undercut in small markets to crush competition, then raise prices. Regardless in NYC Ubers tend to be about the same or more expensive during

Good point, I hadn’t considered this. Also there was the factory QA issue. Possibly much like in aviation , multiple small factors here that need to be addressed and they’re using this as easy excuse to put pause.
