So its been a while since I used Rails but when I did I enjoyed it. In particular, say what you will about DHH I think having a fairly "opinionated view" on how the framework should function makes it much easier to deal with. Ever

If you started sending Hubspot marketing or CRM emails directly from Gsuite its going to get marked as Spam, thats the whole point of using a transactional service. I've had multiple clients in the past who have decided to send "C

I started my true web development arc in 1999 and used most of these techniques. There was a netizen of the time called “Dr Ozone” who was doing mind bending stuff on his site at the time. It’s still around at https://ozones.com

I can say this with someone who’s been his “own boss” for 11 years. Clients suck as bad, if not worse then corporate overlords and at least corporate overlords are pretty predictable. “My job would be great except for the clients and emplo

It is a bit ironic that Roku, which started life as a “Netflix Box” and developed this limited development ecosystem in order to perform on cheap hardware (they always wanted to keep the price under $100) now crashes using Netflix on underp

If this was a one off event I could see your point of view but Patagonia has a long history of putting their money where there mouth is including donating 1% of all revenues and pretty much alienating about half of their addressable market

The problem with trying to avoid the current smart TVs is that the industry has started to subsidize the pricing by selling viewing data. It’s going to be harder moving forward to compete on price without having “smart” features that are r

Just a piece of anecdotal evidence, one of my bosses has since become a VP of engineering at Netflix without a development background. One advantage he always had was a fantastic group of engineers around him. He did a great job identifyin

From the stuff that gets pumped into my feed the purpose of most “threads” isn’t so much about sharing information as building an audience and gaining followers. Heck a lot of them just rehash blog posts written by someone else. Anyway if g

Interesting chart it looks like Safari picked up some share around the same time Chrome dipped. Clicking through by platform it looks like most of that was on mobile. I’m guessing some iOS change did that more than anything else.

I think the example is a bit contrived with a preset union. Where it’s really valuable is when you’re extracting a union from another source (like via keyof) and want to keep the two objects in sync without having to modify the keys in two

Raw land in most denser US urban areas is not cheap. There’s also huge incentives to build additional units. I’m Berkeley where I live it’s becoming more common to see developers buy a run down single family home and raze it and the city wi

The point is that you have more purchasing power with lower income rates. In this example you can buy a house worth 25% more. Pretty much all home buying decisions are normalized on a 30 year fixed mortgage. When figuring out what you can s
