I don’t think its just exclusivity, in the sense that “I’m one of the cool kids”. If the Clubhouse concept was based on conversations amongst a peer group then you need some exclusivity, just to have a manage the number of people in the co

This is not, generally, the law firms but legal investment companies (often founded and or run by ex-attorneys). There’s two, under reported, investment strategies in law. The first is funding class action lawsuits for a cut of the return

About three years ago I got in a mountain bike crash and broke my collar bone and three ribs, managed to ride off the mountain (for any locals it was the Mailboxes trail in Santa Cruz) drove home to the East Bay and walked into the ER. They

I feel some of these analyses focus on rate of crime but what strikes me has been the brazenness of the crimes. I’m SF and elsewhere you can see videos of people walking out of a Walgreen/Home Depot/Walmart knowing no one is reall

I was on team “React is a Library” but for the most part that changed when the hooks and context API were added. The addition of those, relatively simple, tools made it possible to not need the additional state management libraries like Red

In a large and varied company like the New York Times you’re going to have multiple Unions representing different workers. The printers won’t usually be in the same union as the tech workers. You’ll always have a mix of union and non-union

A business can be a “closed shop” and require payment of a fee. Though you don’t, technically have to be a member. The fees are not “dues” they’re essentially “agency fees” or “fair share fee” that make up for the benefits you’re getting d

GM was also ready to get into bed with Nikola which was an obvious pile of bullshit even before the Hindenburg report. I’d not want to be the one holding the bag there while management scrambles to catch up. Probably the best for him to get

Personally I have a contractors that work for me in Russia. We pay them via a wire. If this goes through I’m not sure how I’m going to do that. Have to look at running them through a different system maybe? Any ideas I’d take them.

The Walmart thing is a bit interesting. A couple of the Walmart heirs are avid mountain bikers. They pretty much single handedly created Bentonville AR as a mountain biking destination.

No one really makes 26” mountain bikes anymore everything is 27.5 or 29 not just “high-end” bikes. Unless you’re talking about 26” bikes that kind of look like mountain bikes but aren’t really mountain bikes at all.

The way to make the bay sustainable is to build taller buildings for people to live in. This doesn’t seem to be the solution to the problem. People don’t want to “buy” and raise families in high rise condos. I live in Berkeley and we ha
