The article talked a lot about the leftist/statist hatred of suburbs, but never gave the real reason why. Suburbs aren't dense enough and humans are the scourge of the planet.

Despite the attempt of some to move goal posts, you're still guaranteed that you won't be locked in by Oracle even tomorrow. You still have the source code for the version you're running right?

No matter what they say, it's obviously an anti-american action, plain and simple. If the EU wants a trade war, then they'll have it.

I'm surprised at the industry adoption of Clojure. I'm not a Lispy, dynamic typing guy, but like the anti-OO stance that Rich and Clojure represents. I wouldn't be surprised if Clojure has more "industry" adoption

I assume you're being very non-US-centric since you brought up Beijing. But you're still not getting it. This isn't about martial law, which is what you're essentially describing. Even with martial law, the U.S. way t

I pretty much am anonymous if I want to be. There's no system in place right now that can conveniently track me. Yeah, there's some cameras in some places, but for the most part I could drive to the store, pay with cash, and pre

Yeah, I see these things rolling out as fine-grained additions to buses. Public transport in the U.S. sucks unless you live in the cities..it sucks in the suburbs too. I see self-driving taxis coming first, on "battle-tested" roa

They already own the kill switch. Haven't you ever been subject to a road block before? You seriously want to compare a government controlled kill switch to a landslide or a roadblock?

More likely is that the government will (via regulations) make it very hard to own cars. There are downsides to self-driving car though. Eventually you will have to give up anonymity and the freedom to go where you want, when you want.
