We will never wipe out covid, because it also is transmitted in a couple species of animals. We'd have to kill/vaccinate bats, civets, minks, etc.

I'm glad you agree that covid-19 is not a threat to our species! Why did you bring up systemic collapse? You made some pretty broad statements. Things like food shortages and civil unrest happen all the time, for lots of reasons. There

My apologies! I didn't mean to mix you up with the original comment I was replying to. I did specifically object to the characterization of the pandemic as a threat to the surivial of the species. I'm glad you agree!

You said "the survival of the species" was at stake. Are you telling me that you stand by that comment? Do you really think this coronavirus might have killed off our species? There is zero science supporting this. In fact, to the

I second this - I also appreciate the numbers. Another way to look at this (29 million people in Texas, 50k deaths) is that 1 of every 580 people in Texas died of covid. Just a tiny bit better than the national average.

Thanks for the links! I made a first pass through them, and will look at them more. I appreciate the extra data. There's a lot of details to mull over, some of it seemingly conflicting. For example, your linked article [0] mentions &qu

You seem to be overstating the likelihood of covid-19 mutating into another strain, like the flu does. It's a coronavirus and those are known to be different in this regard. I haven't seen a source saying that we should expect imm

Perhaps more local politics would be better. Trying to get 330 million people to agree on everything is doomed to failure.

Some people value the community more than the individual, some the opposite. It is a big problem that people can't respect each other.

That's 6 unusual/dangerous cerebral clots per 7 million doses, not all blood clots. There were 50% more clots of any types in the vaccine trials of 20k people [0] (15 blood clots in vaccinated group versus 10 in the placebo group)
