Yep,as a former animator-in-training and heavy Blender user, the fact that the UI didn't match the rest of the OS was an afterthought, at best. You might even argue that having the exact same UI look on multiple OSs was a plus.

I'm in that early millenial/xennials bracket too, and my observations/sentiment of the younger generation are similar to yours. It's funny too, because there's lots of otherwise ingenious, intelligent GenZ out ther

Yeah that was my question too. Its one thing to know the most simple fix for a KeyError issue, its another to understand that its the result of not assigning the proper key in some other part of the code, or like you said, maybe it called

Ok, I appreciate you reaching back. And my bad, I didn't see that it already supports direct export of JSON.

Looks neat! Would there be a way of intercepting state and making 'snapshots' into a more traditional format, like SQL, or even a JSON file? It sounds like this defaults to the server storing the whole state in their binary format

Git is still great for developers, who are comfortable with the command-line and are willing to learn all of Git's concepts. But let's be honest, Git isn't the most friendly tool for most computer users, many of whom have nev

Interesting idea. But supposing that the quality never nosedived, I suspect companies would still be doing these mass layoffs. Quality is always relative to the overall pool of job applicants, and companies would just layoff people with a

Yeah I'd imagine that's the best way. Lots of LLMs can generate workable Python code too, so code that jives with Blender's Python API doesn't seem like too much of a leap. The only trick is that there has to be enough B

If things like slots are used, it isn't necessarily nasty coupling. But I agree this approach does make more a more complex tree structure than something you would see in a typical JSX/TSX file. That said, I think the author'

As a primarily frontend-developer, I can attest to this sentiment. I should add that most backend devs I know understand the basics of HTML, CSS and Javascript, but they're less interested in learning new framework/library/te

I don't think spending the money on these outreach programs is wrong either. I will say it does show conflict in terms of what the Processing foundation should focus on. It could be that many of Processing's donor's had the a

I also don't have a CS major but work as a developer. I can attest to the OP's urge of wanting to enroll in CS in hopes that once I finish and get another job, I won't feel as overwhelmed as I did before. While I'm sure

There should be a shorthand phrase for "I agree with all parent nodes of this". Like a pseudo OOP-type syntax. Buying a bike and riding it regularly was my single best investment in terms of physical and mental health. A close s
