NetSol is a plague. Web.com was garbage and bought them to consolidate even more garbage in house. They don’t even encrypt customers passwords. I was asked to confirm a plaintext password once on behalf of a client. No identity confirmation

I see BB pushing B2 more and more and it makes me sad. Instead of a Linux client (which I can’t imagine would be that difficult, ultimately, after this many years) they’re putting all resources on the pay-for-utilization model. Good for the

I’m not a fan of it, but it is a necessary evil sometimes. I had a client dispute my work after he asked me to spend hours on tangential crap, then claim I wasted his time (he asked me to do the work and bill the time, approved of it at the

Highly recommend using CloudFlare instead of Cloudfront. a) it's totally free, which means once it's cached at CF, no charges from AWS for bandwidth, also no charges for Route 53 since CF handles the DNS too. b) it can be used to

This burned me and because of it I can't host a specific static site on S3 because it requires plus signs. Can't change the files being uploaded due to the system generating them... tried to rig up some sort of Akamai rewrite rule

Only 550TB yearly rated load? That seems low. Less than 50x the size of the drive. Maybe that's normal but that just seems very odd to me.

I'm still focused on delivering comments from a client side option, so that my site can be delivered using a static approach. Disqus is a bit bulky but does meet that requirement still.

I always stayed away from Freelancing sites (to work) - I tried hiring a couple jobs out, and got a guy who ripped me off (my fault, I paid via PayPal, and had no guarantees) and then a couple Indian shops that couldn't handle the basi

I've always wondered why something like CNN doesn't snatch it up (obviously the parent company) even with the large amount of useless garbage on it, I still think it's an amazing "pulse" on realtime events around th
