Xamarin is really focused on mobile development, and in particular a large chunk of our effort is into making C# and F# great languages on both Android and iOS. Our Forms API is a cross-mobile API to create UIs, part of a family of cross-pl

If you have a chance, ask your friends to send us their feedback. We are working non-stop on the product, but it always helps when real users share their stories with developers, otherwise we fall back into just looking at our internal ta

Joe is correct, the code was always owned by Ximian. And we did require copyright assignment or relicensing rights from the start to support a dual-licensing business. It was the One Blessed Business Model endorsed by Richard Stallman at

Mono was always designed to be dual-licensed, because we needed a way of monetizing the investment. Because of this, the LGPL and GPL portions of the code required either copyright assignments, relicensing rights, or the contribution to be

Thank you for the kind words and the perspective. Luckily, we will be joining a new Microsoft (pending regulatory approval), one lead by Satya which has a different vision for the company. We are excited about what this means for Xamarin&

We are working on replacing those parts that we can. But there are several issues: * reference source code not being portable and not working on Unix. * complex dependencies between the portable and non portable pieces * some bits were only
