I'm concerned that this is going to make it much more profitable to clear forest land in wetter areas. Speaking as a Minnesotan, this is probably pretty fucking good for alfalfa prices, not so good for marginal wetlands.

Significant omission in article: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kazakhstan_man-in-the-middle... The Kazakhstan government has attempted on multiple occasions to require trust of their own CA, and to proxy all traffic

Works great for applications where you spend most of the time waiting for a database. The dynamic type system makes it easier to write testable code with less abstraction overhead. Faster to train up junior devs. That said, you * must * set

Honestly I think your best bet for this is to have a predictable failure or degenerate input (empty body for post etc) and then write a test that hits all your endpoints in a docker container.

I have actually just started a process like this in a personal react project. The project uses password auth and websockets, and I was starting to get bugs around refreshing things that I couldn't easily fix. I had implemented this ori

On the bright side, it's easier than ever to listen to albums, even really obscure stuff. I feel like it's a good antidote to that "sludge" feeling. I've been able to find most any hometown punk shit from 1997 I wan

Yyyyyeah, classes in js are pretty bad full stop. For instance, passing a method as an argument will do awful things unless you bind it to a this first. Gross. Still, it's interesting to me that Proxy is more valuable to author than pr

Yeah, but it's a negligible rounding error of cpu time for each client. Distributing this work ironically makes it much easier to centralize the authentication.

It amazes me that in every market they serve, Amazon has no actual competitors from a feature perspective. Like, Target does not compete with Amazon. They have a totally different home delivery model that is not in the same category of reli

I think there's very little risk mitigation we can do to prevent a human from trying to kill us all, so the addition of an AI trying to do the same is sort of "who gives a shit." Like, there was a fifty fifty chance we made i

Racism is a really powerful cognitive fallacy. Once you let it in, it's tempting to just start pointing it at everything, like author is doing here. I got to the part where he's describing Hispanics at the DMV and had to check if

I think the Supreme Court has a real out here to say, "Fuck, we dunno" and rule to change nothing and suggest that Congress remedy the situation through new laws. That's ideologically consistent and the right move. I would be
