I understand some people do need all these ports, but in my experience (and opinion) an XPS is worse in every other metric. The trackpad is terrible, the sound is terrible, the screen is worse, the webcam is not as good. I cannot use window

My conspiracy theory is that, if the virus intentionally or unintentionally escaped from that lab, and the CDC,CIA, whatever, etc already know this, probably everyone prefers to shut up and deny it, because otherwise it might lead to a war

The ecosystem is already pretty split on several fronts, not just typing. Python 2 vs 3, async vs blocking, packaging tools, etc. I left python 3 or 4 years ago and not planning to go back (basically the company I was working for mandated t

I'm pretty stupid so I think that the most complex thing I understand is that spacetime is something with a "shape" and that it deforms in presence of matter. It blows my mind thinking about it.

I used Dropwizard many, many years ago. It was what made me like Java. Such an awesome tool. I'm happy to see so many years later it is still alive and kicking and powering so many systems. We definitely need more of this.

Whether decoupling into microservices or making them part of a monolith is a good idea or not, to me, had a lot more to do with the teams and company organization behind these services than the product itself. So I'd say without knowin

And so, his recommendation is to use styled-jsx which is pretty much abandoned (despite of what they say) [1] and not even themselves are using it [2] I do think css-in-js solutions are good, but also they're a lot more work, and proba

Well, I actually think that forcing, or encouraging the average user to use a pin code to unlock the phone is a good thing. I can't get my mother to use one, and she has a lot of information about me in his phone (emails, conversations

I think this applies to most companies. What they write in their blogs is a shiny, optimistic, limited view of the best part of their best system or similar. Once inside, things are never that great. I myself was very ashamed of a company I

Such a terrible advice. I've been several times involved in companies where this approach was followed, and where you could only run your own service with mocks, and we had incredibly better results with the latter approach by a far, f

All of this is an immense wheel reinvention, and the SQL I'm seeing is actually far worse than what ActiveRecord or Django's ORM would generate. Also, talking about such a low level performance issues makes me think we're alr

Yep, I can see at work how fantastic are those hand written sql scripts wrapped in bash to run migrations, and those magnific joins and manual mapping of dates. That's great, until you realize you have an actual product to build.

Sadly you will find the same thing on backend, and even on infra, so better to think in switching to do something else not computer related if you don't like it. On the frontend, people are crazy with React, redux, css-in-js,etc,etc, o

The focus thing is as easy to fix as just not swapping that component. Certainly you need a different mindset to use this technique. If you try to do it the same way you do SPAs you will find a lot of problems of course
