Can't this be blocked on a FB level already? I don't see those "FB Connect" boxes anymore. To be honest, I cannot even remember what setting I changed in FB, but it seems to work. (I also have disabled applications and not sure if this make

Thanks, I hope Andrew is reading this but I am not him. I submitted it because I appreciated the ingenuity and thought HN would as well.

I can't remember if someone sent it to me or if I saw it on another aggregate suite. Probably the latter.

Thanks but I should have been more clear--this is not me. I submitted this because it seemed like an idea HM would like and be inspired by.

Submitter here: This is not my site! I am not the person doing the reverse job application. I stumbled upon the site and thought the mindset was something HN would like and possibly get inspiration from.

Myspace is a sister company to the WSJ? In theory maybe, but I am sure many folks at the Journal consider Myspace like that strange step-sister you'd rather not talk about. I really don't see Myspace as much if a competitor to FB anymore, e

There is clearly someone in the driver's seat with their hands on the wheel. This one may not have been automated at all but collecting data.

Am I naive to think your startup should be that good, that great, that unfailing that reporters should find you?

Honestly, I have not seen a different in FB since this change. Groups look a little different but that is about it. Is it that no one has attempted to add me to any groups without me knowing?

I would definitely be in, but I can't even code yet. What are your suggestions on going from 0 - launch by the end of November?

"This isn't as bad as it looks. Only your friends can add you into groups" Yes, it is as bad as it looks. If one person can add you to a group without your approval, that's bad.

I have not done so but check out 37signals.com. They are bootstrapped and talk about it in their blog and books. Great work.

They (Diaspora staff) said this as they released it: "Feel free to try to get it running on your machines and use it, but we give no guarantees. We know there are security holes and bugs..."
