Damn dude. I'm just having fun most of the time. The field is so insanely broad that if you've got an ounce of affinity there's a corner that would fit you snugly AND you'd make a decent living. Take a look around.

Either way you wrap each thing that acts as a dependency, even if it's internal. I treat dependencies another team in my company delivers the same as any other third party dependency. Never use the classes but always just wrap around t

She was being filmed by a camera crew, it was obvious she was from the press. Media vest - it's not Afghanistan - though deployment of military may give that impression. Really going for the 'she was asking' for it defense?

I saw the one where a journalist was shot with rubber bullets. What does the flag have to do with anything? Aren't you guys supposed to have freedom of expression?

It doesn't really matter from what country the company is. If you do business in the EU then EU laws apply to the business you do in the EU. Just like EU companies adhere to US law for the business they do in the US.

> make an impact. To me, a junior devs biggest job is learning and not delivering value. Is a pitfall I'm seeing in my own team where he is so focused on delivering value that he's not gaining an understanding.

This is also my big frustration. I've set it to an Adguard instance that's also on tailscale and the app keeps getting into a faulty state. I've been looking into hosting the Adguard instance on the open web and securing it a

It has Android auto, I've used it in a previous car and it's decent enough. Like the other commenter said - I'd install tailscale and connect via that.

One thing LLM's could do for me is a "recap" feature. I sometimes completely forget listening to books when I'm halfway through. So I'm either having to Google for synopsis per chapter or just start over. Mostly i j

This is one of the pillars of the selfhosting world imo. Together with Immich for photos, Plex(amp) - arr stack for media, and Vaultwarden for passwords. They've just never let me down. Maybe openwebui is another addition but it's

I just use abs to serve podcasts, subscribe to the abs feeds with antennapod. Have a couple of premium podcasts setup that way (so even keeping a local archive).

I use Gemini 2.5 pro experimental via openrouter in my openwebui for free. Was using sonnet 3.7 but I don't notice much difference so just default to the free thing now.

Change can be spurred on by law. If governments aren't allowed to use non-EU (or maybe specifically US) hosters a big enough investment could jumpstart it. I'm working for a semi-government organization who just switched over to k

Yeah, this just seems like a great opportunity for a European startup scene. Even though plenty of bad things happened under Joe Biden - the relationship with the US was fine. Every morning you wake up to see crazy stuff Trump said and that

But you're not really writing python right? You're instructing a tool to generate python. Kinda like saying I'm writing bytecode while I'm actually just typing Java.

I'm with Namecheap and they're decent but one big minus is how inaccessible their API is, would put them on the bottom of the "do use" list.

For me a big usecase is the ability to save specific requests and categorize / name them. It's a good way to document test data. If someone creates a feature which I want to test or debug I'd have to dig into the database to

Women die because they're not allowed to abort nonviable fetuses that would also likely kill them. Seems very unsafe, I wouldn't want to be a woman there.
