Those aren’t big players on a global basis. Canada is concerned its culture is at risk from globalisation, and those concerns are not without merit.

Nobody’s stopping you from doing whatever you want. You want to pay for an office building and sit it it that’s fine. The problem comes when you try to stop what others want.

How could I possibly have more control over a browser? I have multiple applications that resolve DNS, I want to configure their resolver in a single location. Maybe I want to run systemd-resolved, maybe I want to run dnsmasq, maybe I want t

Why would to want my applications to use what my operating system does? I control both, but typically I have more control over the OS, and importantly it’s a single location to configure.

By using Ubuntu I’m trusting their binaries. By using any distro I’m trusting their binaries, or even if I compile everything from scratch I certainly haven’t read and understood every line of code. He’s not wrong in his statement.

I don’t get why people dislike slack. I find it brilliant. Maybe your company requires certain behaviour, but that’s not a problem with the tool, nor will any other tool make things better.

Amsterdam ciry has a population density of 5,300/sqkm and 1 million. Miami is 4,800/sqkm and 6 million across the urban area. Seems that Miami could have an urban transit system similar to Amsterdam.
