Except that Google, Facebook, Cisco would gladly sponsor you for green card - if they're gaming the system they would surely try to string you along until you've used up your H1B renewal before doing that?

As a Guardian supporting member, I'm forwarding this directly to their editorial complaints. There are other publications that deserve my money if the Guardian refuses to stop being sensationalist.

I did Ada 95 back in college. Was really nice for embedded programming -- the built-in concurrency primitives are astounding, and it feels like a much safer systems programming language than C/C++

That's my experience with the 6P. The first few months, I used it as a phablet and didn't put a SIM card in, and battery usage was fine. Then I moved to the US, activated Project Fi on it, and battery life is horrible -- I suspect

When Bill Frist was Senate majority leader, despite his training as a medical doctor he didn't exactly use that competence in the Terri Schiavo case. Congress is inevitably political, the problem is how to provide unbiased expert advi

I'm coming to that conclusion too, at least in locations with easy access to Apple Stores. Moving back to the US so my next laptop will be a Mac; here in Indonesia the third party service centers are a joke (for most repairs they would

For me, using Chrome on Android, Twitter's mobile interface displays an error page whenever I try to attach a photo. Apart from that it's quite nice.

You don't, I've been using Truedialer happily. Now, on the iOS side, it's a different story since Apple doesn't allow third party dialer apps yet

Schema on read, as opposed to schema on write, as it says in the excellent "Designing Data Intensive Applications" book ... nightmarish to deal with.

I think what he means is, startups can't deal with the uncertainty and lead times the current H-1B system imposes. Large companies just project how many openings they would have in October next year, hire appropriately, and park them i
