The article on Ars suggests that the new law would not allow them to delist one provider and allow another. This is not law yet, this is part of the proposal. I am still looking for some evidence that they are not allowed to delist all new

I still can't see why google can't just remove Australian news sites from the index? It should be a very small list for Australia. They already do this for copyright claims.

And watch NY CNC and This Old Tony on youtube. Once youtube starts recommending more CNC channels on account of watching these two you will be addicted. Watching CNC cutting is probably the most relaxing way to waste time.

This looks great fun. I first worked in C and 8080 so I didn't see the PDP-11 ISA until a few years later. What amazed me at the time was how much the PDP11 was like C. There is just about a one to mapping of things like pre and post

This can only be good. I have had 3 WearOS watches over many years. None last more more than a few months of use due to the mindblowingly bad WearOS. 256,000 reviews and 120,000 one star reviews. I have a drawer full of perfectly working ha

Maybe it is me, the material looks really good, but: Minutes into it the notebooks on the page stop working, mainly due to trivial errors, like missing imports. It is not much use having a 'run' button if you can't run it. Th

ASN.1 is specified as a compilable language. Open source compilers, such as snacc, have existed for 30 years. ASN.1 also defines multiple encodings, DER is used in crypto as you can compare encoded blocks bit by bit. Other encoding rules, s

I agree the photos are probably just mockups. No way they would be using that sort of prop. That said, Li-FES2 primary cells (at 400Wh/kg) have well over twice the energy density to LiPo/LCO rechargables (at 190 Wh/kg). If I

It would be interesting economics to revisit this now with much lower interest rates, higher labour costs and very different plant costs due to changes in technology and lower cost manufacturing of some of the components.

The chance of replacing every banking system at once is not at all possible. Even just replacing CHESS all at once is pretty much impossible. Just how many years late is it and how many more until it's actually used by all participants

It is certainly not a driver's license, this makes as much sense as asking Hamilton or Vittel to do a driving test before giving them a job as a driver. That said, I would not be surprised this would happen at Google as they truly beli

No the ESP32 uses less power. In deep sleep it uses about a quarter of the current. It also has an extra low power processor (ULP) core than can run in a sleep state and do IO without even waking up the Tensalica cores. The ESP32-S2 actual

Who has used RS232 voltage for serial in the last 10 years? I'd rather a few MOSFETs to cut the power to everything for lower power. I guess there is a specific market for this and it is not me. I have at least 20 of Esp8266 and esp32
