One very "good" application to learn these things is Microsoft's Excel. It fully implements regional settings, so if you want to open/save a .csv file, it will automatically use the list separator for your country as the field separator.

You call an ambulance, that has an overclocked version of the self-driving chip :). I don't see the self-driving car as a completely different car than a normal one - maybe more like an expensive option (with all the sensors, data and stuff

You get a huge performance impact if the OS doesn't align the clusters to the sectors. From the wikipedia article: The translation process is more complicated when writing data that is either not a multiple of 4K or not aligned to a 4K bou

It's small, it's a server, it's cheap, but it's also terribly underpowered. Any desktop i3 CPU is three times as fast. It doesn't support more than 8GB of RAM or more than 4 thin (LFF) HDDs, so you cannot use it as a storage device or RAM d

Usually, startups are small. That means everybody knows everybody, and the CEO should know everyone. Why didn't she just forward the e-mail to their legal department/person internally, with a simple "thank you, your invoice will be reviewed

I think what you actually hear is coil noise from the fast switching of the current in motor's coils. The motor they use looks and sounds more like a HDD motor more than a normal fan motor - optimized for constant speed under quite a heavy

A Peltier element only moves the heat from one side to the other. If you don't have some device to cool the hot side, the element will overheat and burn - so you still need a big heat exchanger to dissipate the heat into the air. Also, Pelt

Most of the original (boxed) CPU fans are machined. The sheet metal fans are 3rd party and they need costly heatpipes to move the heat away from the (machined) CPU base. It will be costly because the machined metal fan will need great balan

We will probably use a combination of SSDs for speed and HDDs for storage for a long time. I don't think it's cost effective to keep everything on a SSD (like: movies), as the cost/GB is ~15x higher than the HDD storage. I have a combinatio

Does it read your card (magnetic strip) or it uses the card's chip for encryption services to generate the tokens? It's not the same thing. Card chips are not easy to clone and have more data than the credit card number.

With legal actions, Apple managed to delay the sale of some of Samsung's devices in Europe for months, immediately after release. Given the rapid releases we see these days, that means a lot of money lost. For the size, take a look at the S
