The illusion of choice: You can have any color car as long as its black. I mean you can run any browser you want, as long as its Chrome.

Despite those stats, if Google wants to avoid being called a monopoly they need to support it, and it needs to receive the same level of support as their own product.

Same it has worked fine for me for ages with Ublock, but this week it has been _bad_. I recently switched to 5g for home internet (i live in the woods), and thought that was the cause. But seeing others complain about it leaves me to believ

Supposedly this guy has “read every dystopian novel,”. Considering he is still moving forward with the idea, I tend to believe he failed reading comprehension classes in elementary school.

Being able to order food is only useful for those who live in an area where there is food to order. Here in rural Michigan I can count on one hand the number of times I've ordered delivery in the past 3 years. AI has been totally usele

Just because somebody wants to know where you're from, doesn't mean they are entitled to know that. You are under no obligation to say "I'm from California" when buying a house. Your realtor can do all the discussio

Years back I ran into a issue at work because somebody named their computer "localhost" on a network with automatic DNS registration. Because of DNS search path configuration it would resolve. So, "localhost" ended up re

Its a good thing the US is _huge_. I certainly didn't "displace" anybody as I moved back home to Michigan from California to buy a house in the woods. There are at least 6 houses for sale within a half mile from me right now

Yes. As a teenager when I worked at the local Burger King I used to ride my bicycle ~8 miles down farm roads and then up to the highway exit area where the BK was. Often I'd leave work at closing time (after 11pm) and ride home in the

100% this. I didn't have a farmers license, but I was definitely driving our little S10 up to the supermarket for groceries or gas at 14. Never had a issue. I wasn't a menace on the road until I was officially licensed ;)

I grew up in rural farmland of Michigan. Guess what. I rode a bicycle or walked. To and from school (I lived _just_ inside city limits which meant the buses were off-limits to me). To my friends house. To my friends house a township away (1

The old Sleep Number beds were not smart, they worked fine. I think people want to drown in useless data these days trying to "fix" their sleep when the reality is its their job or high stress causing sleep issues.

I like: reduce, re-use, repair, recycle. I agree with fixing older stuff. I buy used frequently. Estate sales are my lifeblood. If you can't fix it you don't own it.

Ya, the sun is out quite late right now =) My chickens don't want to go to bed! But then the sun goes down, and you can see _EVERY_ star in the sky. When I walk my trashcan out to the street, its pitch black. I LOVE it.
