This story is adjacent to some topics I follow fairly closely for various reasons. I had seen a lot of not super well informed commentary on it when it was talked about here previously and so in that spirit I wanted to offer a short 20 minu

I actually think about this I’m entirely the opposite way. The moment all browser APIs especially the DOM become usable from WASM it’s over for JS and would no longer be the obvious choice as it’s suddenly not the only game in town and the

This is an intentional strategy to work around ad-blocking and other data harvesting practices. Just take a look at the privacy information screen in the iOS App Store for example.

This is really one hell of a take… you don’t think it maybe has something to do with the hundreds of kids they are fucking and lying about it? No, It’s the damned progressives instead? It’s literally there in the subheading which I will quo

Because they have spent a long time building out good consumer protection laws. The US could have this also, it’s a political choice not to and is instead more of an enterprise owned state at this point.

Obviously nobody is going to convince you that you have a complete crackpot view of the world, that’s kind of the definition of the situation you find yourself in. It’s just incredibly clear that you actually don’t have any kind of meaningf

This is such a ludicrous idea that doesn’t pass even the most basic reality checks. It’s explicitly illegal for a start amongst a whole host of other problems where the incentives make zero sense.

I would argue that it is primarily but not exclusively the React community and it’s surrounding ecosystem. Yes, it genuinely is a mess where people are continually reinventing the same things again and again on a loop and no two projects

Thoughtbot is famously a Ruby shop since their inception, I don’t know that this detail just happened to slip their mind due to ignorance.

This is a million times better than some attempt to talk over the top of the other person an a Joe Rogan podcast and pretending that something even vaguely resembling science or a debate has occurred.

This is very much civility for the sake of civility which is not without problems but is the culture here. Editing the post to remove the word idiotic and replace with uninformed.
