Work on that is happening here https://github.com/dart-lang/web . I expect it will be fully baked by the time Dart 3.1 drops and in-line classes are a thing as it ends up making a big difference as far as I can tell.

Delphi is most certainly not a solution that anyone is reaching for of any kind of regularity in 2023 but again, if you like it keep using it but I’m more than happy to put Flutter up against Delphi as a way of building user interfaces.

Are we just debating imperative vs declarative UI patterns? I think that debate was settled a long time ago to be fair. If you happen to like that approach more that’s cool keep using it but it’s not the done thing in any mainstream modern

Historically there was always a bit of a funky story about what JS <-> Dart interop looked like that made it not a particularly practical option for most people. That is about to change however examples here https://youtu.b

Just by way of comparison for a real world example. As far as I know Chrome OS and Chrome itself is more or less all Lit for the UI.

Agree with this comment 100%. Worth noting that “the happy path” is not the same thing as the “standards compliant path” with Vite which is also a pain in the ass.

Dart itself has also made a huge amount of progress in the last 2-3 years and are days away from probably their most significant upgrade ever. Dart is at this stage actually a damned good language. Miles in front of TypeScript for example.

It’s really not an either / or scenario at all. There are tons of really good solutions to this problem that are incredibly affordable but they just aren’t popular in the React ecosystem which is once again off doing its own thing seem

This depends on your language of choice a lot but even still I don’t know how much I agree with it. It’s not at all obviously wrong on the surface, there is some setup involved in the sense you’re bringing at a minimum one new tool into you

Just in case your not already aware this account you are responding to is very “out there” and hard to take in good faith. It’s just one thing after another of absolutely nonsense points like this.

Maybe you should speak with a little less confidence. Let me quote from the opening paragraphs of the Wikipedia entry for the source you just quoted: “ A fringe website,[23] it is known for misleading reporting[24] and sympathetic coverage

It’s really difficult to pretend this is a serious comment. It’s just so all over the place responding to arguments that no one ever made with a series of facts you seem to have taken from who knows where.

You are responding to a claim that nobody made and then introducing another “fact” that isn’t actually relevant to the conversation. The argument isn’t that all murder stops. It’s that it goes down, dramatically when you remove guns from th

We both understand the concept that the US has more than 1 major social problem at the same time right and that other countries also have comparable levels of gang membership but wildly different murder rates.

The point you seem to be making doesn’t really hold up to even a light level of scrutiny. There is not any evidence what so ever that a person who might commit a murder with a gun would just use the next available option to them such as a k

It’s actually nothing like that at all. People keep bringing it up because the US has the second highest number of gun related deaths of any country in the entire world.

Not putting appropriate access controls around that data is a choice and one that I hope they end up paying dearly for in court.
