Multi-sig transactions are larger, and fees are based on tx size.

Actually, they're based on tx size. Fees are estimates as satoshis/byte. 10-20 satoshis is incredibly cheap

Someone set a custom fee or built a transaction manually and made a mistake. Alternatively, someone just learned an expensive programming lesson.

Usually this sort of work falls under U/X or "product design"- software design often means architecture. I get the sentiment, but specialization exists for a reason, and this sort of thinking could work just as well for a ret

I'm not claiming he's right. I'm just responding that it's a useful idea, and that the language makes sense to reinforce the idea. Edit: aside, it's interesting (and frustrating) that comments on HN are often assume

Did he come up with "paid, laid, or made"? I've heard it from sales people and thought it predated McClure. The kitten and "money shot" is absolutely unnecessary, but I get the coarse language for "paid, made,

Not sure I agree- because investors aren't in the same category as employers, it's harder for a founder to get any sort of justice for discrimination or harassment. AFAIK, the bar for a lawsuit is much higher. Also, most of these

Clearly if you get to choose, choose to IPO :). I think the idea here is that many founders would be better taking $5-20M acquisitions along the way than shooting for the moon- shooting for the moon is better for investors, as they have a p

No, my "systematically" meant "by design, throughout the system". Also, I definitely didn't say "meh", act particularly elitist, say anything about the system vs "your success", or try to make ex

Fair enough, maybe I should've said it reduced variance? Good for power-law investments, trending toward zero for house-edge blackjack.

Agreed much of our drug policy and criminal system systematically keeps down black people. Not sure that one comment skipping a discussion of race implies all of HN is biased, though

Clearly the expected value should be higher investing. You don't win blackjack by playing more games, but you can improve returns by spreading out your investments.

Do you mean POST? Also, these days, I think the blame is more likely lazy devs, poorly complying frameworks, or compromises to make things easier for some frontend library.

AFAIK that's not the definition of the rest of us are using for a distributed system. If anything, considering the fat client trend we're in, I'd go the other direction and claim a single web server backend with multiple clie
