To me a "holy grail" wouldn't just be about being superior, but about being complete. Even within the web space, with its simplistic UIs, React doesn't do a lot (intentionally). Whether it's a shining diamond of mat

The enterprise sector is full of this. And why wouldn't it? It's basically never-ending circle of highly-paid consultants, in-house employees with very specific skillsets, never mind corporate kickbacks for devs and their manage

Shared suffering is also a good conversation starter for the elderly. Some waiting rooms turn into a kind of Four Yorkshiremen sketch quickly. And yes, that's not good. The whole world hasn't quite come to terms yet with situation

I think it would be interesting to have some kind of linter/formatter built in the editor that restricts JS to its basic imperative subset.

I thought it's a good illustration of how fractured and fragile the JS "library" situation is. It's a bit like the previous PHP standard library, combined with the worst of Perl's Tim Toady.

Yes, pretty much. I don’t want to bikeshed elementary parts of the developer experience, never mind vetting all the teeny components or find replacements if dependency hell strikes, quality regresses or maintainers disappear. Given all the

I'd prefer Eiffel or Oberon, but almost anything is better than ES6. I just wish there was some kind of standard library movement to coincide with it, but even MS seems okay with left-pad.

Given the dreadful Sencha acquisition, this doesn't sound too good for the employees. Hope you'll find good replacement positions.

Cyrano As A Service? Totally outsourcing it seems a bit skeevy to me, but some on-demand-coaching would be nice. "Don't tell her about your D&D group yet!" would've been some good advice in the past. For a friend of

A few years back Pharo's predecessor/sibling Squeak was garnering some interest due to its "Seaside" web framework, which used continuations and so made some interactions easier to program. But after the rise of JavaScri
