There are lots of updates. I think it's definitely worth getting if you liked the 1st edition. ( Full disclosure : I am the author.)

The biggest thing is a complete elimination of the need for a lambda in the status feed. You can compare http://ruby.railstutorial.org/chapters/following-users?versi... and http://ruby.railstutorial.org/chapters/following-users#sec:s...

You make some good points, but your tone is too strident. Please keep HN discussions civil.

You make a good point, but in this case I think it's implicit in their form that you're joining a list of some kind. Otherwise, they would just have a download link.

That's not why. You can live in Singapore as a permanent resident for the price of starting a corporation ($150), which then simply hires you as an employee. Or you can have $20m and qualify for an investor exception—for which I'm pretty su

The tax revenues we're talking about here are roundoff errors to USG. This is just pure spite.

You're criticizing my paraphrase of DHH, not my actual point. That point was "companies with a huge number of users are valuable, either as eventual cash cows or as strategic acquisitions, but at best following that route is a risky strat

The benchmark is profits. "Instapintora" might work out well for its founders, but DHH argues that grabbing a ton of users and hoping for the best isn't a good general strategy for building a business. I'd amend that slightly by saying that

This looks promising. There are two big questions I didn't see answered in the FAQ: (1) Who are you? (2) What do you get out of the program? P.S. The design of the site is awesome.
