Facebook already uses coroutines pretty heavily in certain C++ services. Was kind of surprising to see, I haven't seen coroutines used much in C++ because of the lack of standard library support (no composeable promises yet)

Looking at the size of this loss compared to government spending, it actually doesn't seem like that big of a deal. Definitely stupid and embarrassing, but doesn't seem likely to have a big fiscal impact.

The difference is that I founded and raised millions of VC $$ in the crypto space, and watched some of my friends make tens or hundreds of millions, and yet I made very little from crypto. I didn't build a protocol or anything with a t

It's obviously not controversial. Your linked article doesn't claim that a 0-week old Fetus is conscious. It claims you can define consciousness in such a way that a 24 week old fetus is conscious. That 100% completely reinforces

In this US, most bathrooms are open and don't require a code. In some US cities, you have to get a code because people will camp in the bathrooms to use drugs. In most places where I live (San Francisco) it's easy to get access to

"My infant child is making strides toward consciousness" Completely uncontroversial, yet we don't have a metric and we haven't defined it precisely.

Yes if they all count everyone, then they have to collude to discard my vote. The better system is what you described, plus a box that I insert my ballot in that counts it. The electronic machines used in SF are basically the same as an add

It sounds like this is worse than what I've experienced in multiple US jurisdictions. Any of the random nominees can unilaterally discard my vote without detection. In the US, I physically insert my ballot in a sealed counting machine

To first approximation, nothing. And it's possible that we will at some point in the near future. The problem is consuming it. You won't be able to view the photo on device until Android adds it, or until the gallery and camera ap

I used to think this, but I've lost confidence over the last year. I literally work on the software that generates jpg files on Googles Pixel phones, and there seems to be no realistic path to JPEG XL adoption within the next 5 years.

It would be hard for me to believe any generalizations about grocery stores in the US. In San Francisco where I live, there are ~5 grocery stores within walking distance that span an order of magnitude in price and markup. Some items are on
