I think it's supposed to look like little message bubbles, but I get kind of a "squirt emoji" vibe from it. Edit: apparently HN doesn't support emojis. https://emojipedia.org/splashing-sweat-symbol/

Why anyone would want a bluetooth-enabled / battery powered padlock is beyond me. If you want high security, get a lock from a trusted brand (e.g. ABUS) with a thick hardened steel shackle. If you want convenience (e.g. no key for a gy

Priceonomics (which I believe is a YC company?) recently did a write-up on VOCs in common household products and the resulting effect on air quality in your home. The results definitely surprised me and I switched a few of my cleaning suppl

I've noticed lots of chat apps are adding skins/themes lately. Telegram is a great example, I believe slack also has basic theme support.

Do you mean "let me use their space for a week"? There's only 53 parking spaces, and approximately 260 working days per year.

I'm a fan of the onboarding of https://privacy.com/ - simple and clean, the opposite of the traditional payments/banking sector.

+1 to inoreader, I've been using it since the demise of Google Reader. Stable, full-featured, and great mobile apps. https://www.inoreader.com/

I second this, I recently switched my apps off of Mandrill because of their changes. I assume the authors didn't want to deal with the different "incoming webhooks" from different services, but it shouldn't be too hard t

This announcement coming on the same day as the post about Facebook not using the microphone in the app seems strange to me. I don't want any Facebook apps on my phone due to privacy and tracking reasons, and so I used the web view (wi
