The point is that your side project needs to be more interesting than whatever the browser can offer, so you don't even think about opening the browser in the first place.

Python god takes the kitten as a sacrifice for the unnecessary list of indexes you created :). range(len(some_list)) is a convoluted way iterating over the elements of a list. What you are doing is creating a new list with elements [0,.

Most of the code is a little verbose for Python. For example make() function could simply be: return [random.randint(1,10000) for x in range(4)] Also remember that a little kitten dies every time you write a for loop as follows:

I think the portion of gasoline tax for road maintenance amounts to less than a cent per mile, while the frequently quoted cost for road maintenance is 5-6c per mile per car. Thus it is already being funded from other sources.

Model S isn't that expensive, if you factor in the long term costs. Quoting from ( http://teslarumors.com/USA-Residental-Energy-Cost-2011-by-St... ): Based on a price of $3.75 for gasoline, a 15 mpg vehicle will incur a cost of 25 cen

You don't need to "hack" Android to install any app from any source you want. Same goes for Linux distros including Ubuntu. Package managers are not App-store type walled gardens.

And you can load any .apk you want on non-crippled versions. So where is the wall?

- First example is a bit unfair to vanilla python. A better implementation would be the following, which is two times faster (than the given vanilla example): from itertools import izip X = xrange(10000000) Y = xrange(10000000)

How do you interact with software? With keys/buttons. Think of power button as another key. Microsoft conditioned all of us to never ever touch that power button, but it is all right now. I promise.

> people who really hate Google I don't think they hate it. They are just incompetent and desperate for reducing deficit. They see that Google has a lot of money and scheme to take some it.

The output quality depends on the panel type. If it is IPS like these, then viewing angle doesn't matter but some other panels look awful even from a slight side angle.

Steam yes, but games no. I had to jump through several non trivial hoops to get some games running on my 64bit Arch. Even TF2 kept crashing with a cryptic error until I found the solution on some forum post.

While you are depressed, I am amazed by the quantum leap we made. Up to two centuries ago travel time had been essentially the same for millenia, provided that you could afford a horse. Now I can go to any major city in the world within tw

In 2020, they will probably be able to grab some weed from the family pantry. On a different note, I am curious to see how economy and society will shape up once most low entry barrier jobs are automated.

Minus the keyboard :). Add that and the price is in line with the MBA. Surface Pro is still the better deal in my opinion, because of the newer CPU and better screen.

I'm having trouble parsing the SO axis as well. Python (145K tags) and PHP (300K tags) are right next to each other around 90. R (19K tags) and Delphi (17K tags) are just slightly below around 80.

Yes you can limit the problem until we can get something useful out of the other end but it is very very hard. Here is one of the latest works on the topic: "Accidental pinhole and pinspeck cameras: revealing the scene outside the picture"

This is truly a great effort. At the same time I am frustrated by the choice of the medium. We are well past the age of disseminating information through print. I would love to "hear" the concepts described. Why not make an interactive w
