If that were true, that would mean first and second class completely survived. But the visualization shows this is not the case.

There is a mistake in the tables. Top two are copies of each other but they are supposed to show different things.

The original article does not mention closing price, and it was written on Friday. Either they mean the sharp drop during the day on Friday or the closing price on Thursday.

It sounds silly but is one of the least ambiguous options. Compatible with iPad2 and above (but not mini). Compatible with iPad2, 3 and 4 (except 3 and 4 are not official names). Compatible with iPad2, the new iPad and the newest iPad???

SMS is great and should not go away. Charging a non trivial amount per message is ridiculous. US carriers are the worst offenders on this. They charge up to 20c to the sender AND the recipient.

For notepad and calculator, you can do Win+r then "notepad" or "calc". For applications not the path, I find the metro experience is essentially the same as having a start menu. Hit Windows, type application name, find it from the search r

If the value of the idea is trivially obvious, then so is the idea itself. There are ideas and there are ideas. If it is the paradigm shifting kind, it is probably controversial, non intuitive and may not even make sense within the context

What kind of R&D is happening at Apple? I did a search with the keyword "research" on their job board and not much interesting turned up except for a few "Data scientist" positions.

The difference is how the signal is sent. When you change the resolution in XP for instance, a low res picture gets sent to the display which then has to up sample it, and it looks sucky. On the new MBP the picture sent is always the nativ

Here is my reasoning. You can do the activities you mentioned in places that are a lot more comfortable (sofa), more social (cafe) or more beneficial (gym) than the driver's seat. More importantly, I don't trust my brain's thread scheduler

CDs and DVDs aren't dead? Surely there may be some residual activity going on, but physical distribution of data altogether is mostly done for. Dropbox and cdn's pretty much solved the problem of sharing data efficiently.
