I'm the opposite - I want my food to match my biological expectations, one of the largest being sweet = I just took in quick calories. Not for any grand reason other than I let my hunger and energy levels guide my food choices. I find

It’s no coincidence the discoverer of nonlocality John Bell insisted on clear beables (ontology) of the theory. It’s not philosophy to posit what exists. Be careful because doing it your way may require future disentangling as mathematical

Ontology was central to past physical theories like of Newton or Aristotle though. Why is ontology inherently philosophical? (I mean in the natural philosophy way it is sure, but I don’t think you mean just that). I don’t see biologists get

Well my take is the jokes didn’t single any caste out. It was almost at a meta level against society - we literally can’t get laughs with many jokes about gender. That’s it. Is that because the jokes aren’t funny or because it victimizes on

There must be an opposing critique by now about physics having all the mathematizing one could hope for and yet no clear ontology of QM. Petabytes/day at CERN, several dozen QM interpretations with math and statistics, and yet the most

Explain what caste you think the joke targeted and why please. I'm pretty sure largest reaction on Reddit was that it actually didn't target who you think it did.

The model for mathematics is something like a “good book” of once-entered, unchanging posable questions and theorems. More may be added, but once added there is a sense of permanent definitiveness and relevance. For your example and beyond-

This is part a larger “fear” of mine. We never get to actual singularity because along the way AI is either good enough or we mislabel it to thinking we’ve reached the singularity when we haven’t. Or some other allure/consequence that
