Interesting. One thing to keep in mind that being in the bottom 10% might be a lot better in one country over another though. I'm trying to think of what kind of statistic would show this. Something concerning "Quality of Life&quo

I can sort of see how post-9/11 'kids' who grew up in a society that sees terrorism everywhere might think that it's odd to assume it was just a plane crash. As a teen, I also thought it was just a crash. I was at school

To me it seems that's what the discussion boils down to. I agree that words cannot 'control' thoughts fully, but I also agree that Ursula Le Guin didn't argue this at all but rather that the /way/ we use words

While personally I applaud this new-found freedom for women, and while I hope we'll figure out ways to adapt, I do share your fear to a slight degree. Maybe I'm too optimistic, but I really think we can adapt. I think most of my w

I think I mostly agree with you, but two nitpicks: 1. Allowing anti-vaxxers to have and discuss their ideas should be (and is?) allowed. But perhaps the risk to society is high enough that vaccination should be mandatory. I don't know

I remember quite a few concerned discussions by the adults about how playing Wolfenstein could mess up your balance permanently. Well, and about how the violence would destroy society.

In addition to what sdkjfhskjfh says, Antifa is not exclusively (or even primarily) anarchists. I've met quite a number of people who participate in Antifa counter-protests who are not anarchists at all.
