I just tried the number game on my wife and she got, 3, 7 and 16. I would call that a success. Especially as I had to repeat the last one which gave her more thinking time.

I’m looking at a Xamarin Forms app I develop commercially as I type this. It targets Android, but could have supported iOS and Windows from the same code base. Most of our non UI code is shared with WPF and Web apps. All of the UI uses Xama

If you know WPF or UWP the differences in Xaml between Xamarin Forms and those frameworks is something you could learn very rapidly. If you use Xamarin Android you get native access also and, for example, can import Java jar files in to you

I’ve been using BC since the early 2000’s, so probably more than 15 years. I know it backwards and forwards. If you set it up right, it is pretty powerful. It allows a lot of the stuff that other tools fail on to be overcome. Manual alignme

The consonant sound is just i really. You think it is different because you tend to run the sounds together, but it is really just a clipped i.

the Y in "Ye Olde" is actually thorn. If you look at thorn, you can see how it happened - the loop was unlooped. Also - English was never consistent. The thorn/eth split was completely random and was down more to style than c

Xaml != WPF. In Xamarin Forms land that property is a bool. We have `bool IsVisible`. The problem is the design, and that will change over time as the various flavours of Xaml are supposedly on a path to converge.

That's a bit misleading. It's a rebranded Xamarin Studio, which was based on MonoDevelop. But the a lot of the underlying engine and code renderers are based on Visual Studio now (as of 2019). The longer it is since it was called

Visual Studio Mac is now quite a lot different from MonoDevelop. I've used both (though the latter was a long time ago outside of Unity) and VS Mac is quite a lot more "there" and is definitely a more full implementation. It

No. I'm closer to 50 than I am 45 and I still a) have a well paid job and b) get a lot of job offers via recruiters. I don't doubt I could get re-employed easily, should I choose to.

Ooh that is cool. If you look at the etymology, it seems like the word meant both black and blue at some point and became fixed to one of the colours in each Baltic language, just not the same colour. So, despise it seeming odd, there is

This happens a lot in English. English has a lot of meaning drift, even in native words from Anglo Saxon. For example, deer used to mean any animal, but you have hound (any dog), meat (any food), fowl (any bird), and many, many more. You ev

This is the difference between Duolingo created content and community created content. The Duolingo courses have a lot more to them in app form. It seems like it is a lazy implementation in the app to me. I have a over 1000 day streak and
