Oh I see! It displays good on mobile devices. The draft looks nice. The text colour is a bit hard to distinguish from the surrounding background, and I don't have any eye conditions.

All seem nice until I get to see the search results.. which I cannot "read". It's very difficult to read an output that goes 5x boxes horizontally, and each such line goes then vertically on "forever". It's lik

It was worse but I'm not sure people were less frustrated. Some outages back in 2012-2014 periods were so long that our dev team went for few pints to nearest pub.

Yyy not sure if Northern Europe where much of "development" happened on the Old Continent as a whole, is "substantially warmer" than NA.

Kids in the UK (and elsewhere?) can access the Micro:bit computer[0], while not the same and powerful/extendable as R Pi - it is cheap, good and plenty available. It includes a LED display and motion sensor. Kids can program it using &

Not really. I think it boils down that most cities (and their areas) in the UK are mixed: so you have few streets of expensive houses, and next to it could be a council estate.. In Paris for example, it's not so mixed and you will get

head reads CSV row that has multiple lines. Miller is being offered as "like awk, sed, head.." (emphasis on head - mine) and yes it offers more, but it does not behave "like" the *nix tools it refers to.

+1 for easy install (`dnf install miller` on my Fedora). But seems like it cannot handle a simple use case: CSV without header. $ mlr --csv head -n 20 pp-2002.csv mlr: unacceptable empty CSV key at file "pp-2002.csv" line 1. You h

The pricing modes are confusing - I've seen it at other websites too, is this some kind of trend?! The issue: when I choose "yearly" subscription, the page still shows price per month . So you're about to charge me ever

I don't travel for work by train but for fun, so my experience is probably different to yours. Some EU countries (Greece, Poland, Portugal) still have terrible, slow trains. Paris-Berlin takes 8h (fastest one) for about 877 km. Berlin-

That's what I'm going to do this August with my 3yr old as we'll be visiting friends and family etc. I'd be taking a train to London (about 3h), then EuroStar to Paris (2h 15), then to Berlin (about 8h). Total time ~13 h

The image classification app[0] written by Chris (creator of Phoenix) is IMO nicer example of single file Elixir/Phoenix app. I had some inspirational moments. Yes, I know it was probably linked on HN before. [0] https://git

I'm describing how bad this particular paywall is implemented. Fyi some paywalls will server-side render the article excerpt only. No way to bypass it without active subscription.

The UX there is pretty bad (I'm just normal user). Opens tab in the background, goes to read after a while. See large picture and single paragraph of text. Hmm weird (no info it's subscription based or whatever). Opens again and t

This might work... however I can't see myself doing these things, for reasons that I have no time nor intention. Where I live (UK) the snakes are rare things in the wild, so I really have no desire to fight my fear of them. Simply put,

I miss the old days of working with XSLT and XPath. A nice way of giving some design touches and filtering/sorting to XML documents. It wasn't perfect but I would take any time over the yaml/json/toml/ini.
