I'd say the sport is less about who defeats whom but the style in which it is done, more figure skating than boxing.

You're probably right, this is a far more realistic scenario. I have a bit of a soft spot for dystopia.

I expect in the short run we'll see different tribes of self-driving cars - say Google vs. Uber - who will actively communicate cooperatively with their in-group, but actually compete against the out-group, depending upon whether or

Keep fleshing it out - indeed use your experience with paredit to guide you - the benefit would be that people who don't necessarily know emacs etc can suddenly write lisp the way it was supposed to be written. Imagine if you were new

I've long felt that a proper structured editor would work somewhat like a tree editor[1]. Code is trees, right? [1] https://pcmonk.wordpress.com/2014/04/01/why-dont-we-have-a-g... If you had a really goo

Devil's advocate: I feel like TDD for iOS is a bit of a wasteland, and don't usually bother with it personally, unless there's some especially dense mission-critical business logic that I need to be 100% confident in.

Shameless repost since my earlier post sank like a stone. There's also a promo site[1] that explains a little more about CALX if anybody's interested, also by all means please let me know if you'd like a promo code :) [1] ht

I mainly resent standups because most employers I've ever had scheduled them at 9am, and I'm not really ready to talk to other humans yet at that hour.

I had never considered that we might actually be ahead of the Great Filter. From what I'd read about it I've always thought of it as something we are yet to run into.

I would disagree - the economy is anti-inductive[1] (in that it resists attempts to understand it). As soon as you implement the results of your sufficiently-sophisticated model, the economy will start to be influenced by that. Any viable m
