Yeah, your second point didn't occur to me. It makes sense that filtering might be lacking if you have a relatively calm frequency neighborhood. Thank you!

Even if interference is accounted for, it seems unnecessary to apply it knowingly, no? It might only increase the probability of failure by a tiny amount, but if applied constantly, I'd be concerned too.

Alright, thanks. But what is the use case for the 4 - 4.2 range? If it's outside of the spec, what would operators use it for?

As someone who doesn't know much about telecommunication tech, I have a hard time understanding how this happens. From what I've read, the frequency of 5G doesn't interfere with the C-band, as the C-band is 4-8 GHz. This is b

I agree on single use plastic, but I think paper/cellulose could be used to a much larger extent. People will never adapt to bringing their own containers for everything, but replacing single use plastic with single use (lightly treate

An interesting development is that the argument "common libraries will be cached in the browser" is no longer true. Chrome and other browsers are starting to scope their caches by domain, to mitigate tracking techniques that used

AFAIK an explicit goal of React (at least in the beginning) was to not be opinionated at all and to only provide the view/rendering part of an app. Since then it feels like its scope has expanded a bit. Or maybe not? Not sure which bat

CSR-only apps quickly run into issues when it comes to SEO and initial page load speeds. For reasonably static content it can be solved by snapshotting the routes and serving the snapshots from the CDN. If you have more dynamic content you

Just wanted to offset the sibling comments by mentioning that I've experienced most of the bugs you describe and then some. And a ton of soft locks. On PC. I had truly great fun for 40 hours, but it has slowly taken its toll. I'll

I was about to write this same thing. It is amazing to me how scientists/experts sometimes seem utterly incapable to level with an audience. I get that it's tough if there is a lot of ground to cover, but the quote you pulled is s

I wish I could share your enthusiasm. Good on you. To me the web of today is an ever-expanding ball of shit being rolled in different directions by giant corporations. I agree it's fun to work with, but it isn't healthy.

Branch protection settings are also editable by someone. What's to say the attacker couldn't disable it or bypass it for this one commit? Also I don't think it's uncommon to have a way to get a hotfix deployed without go

Yeah, I think GTA has been doing a good job at handling these things gracefully. Regarding your second point, I'm not sure if you've seen how it's handled in CP? Basically all roads in the distance have a string of car/h

As a PC player I have the opposite reaction. Menus and input feels very console ported. I guess they decided on a compromise that would leave everyone feeling equally alienated.

I played a lot of GTAV, and I never noticed it. Perhaps it preserved actors within a certain radius of the player? Or maybe the third person view made it less apparent. To dynamically spawn/despawn actors is a necessity I suppose, but

If you want to see a game whose graphics are unbounded by consoles, take a look at Star Citizen. Yes, it's incomplete. Yes, it's buggy. Yes, it might be a microtransaction hoax. But damn, it looks good. https://www.yout

Ironically, the released build for all consoles is made primarily for last-gen consoles. CDPR intends to release a patch for enabling "next-gen features" next year. So no, it runs like shit on last-gen because of poor/rushed

You are right that NPCs are generally stupid across the board. However, in CP2077 they are outright broken. If you look at an NPC, turn 180 degrees and then look back, the NPC is either gone or replaced with another NPC entirely. There are

This is true for some games that basically has "drive console sales" as part of the mission statement. In those cases, the game studios are getting economic incentives from the console company to focus on next-gen, even if the mar

I think the hype speaks for itself, doesn't it? You want people to talk about your product, and having an A-list celebrity involved does just that. If you then categorize the extra expense under "marketing", I'd say it&#

I'm having the same experience. I thoroughly enjoy the game, mostly because I'm a sucker for world building. The universe is fantastic, albeit a bit too pubescent and "edgy" at times. It also runs fine on my 1660 super.

Like the sibling poster said, try setting 1440x900 as the game resolution. It seems counter-intuitive, but it looks better.
