It does matter. The nice feeling of being one of many is a feature of echo chambers. If you can create that artificially for anything with a push of a button, it's a powerful tool to edit discourse or radicalize people. Have a look at

If it's the same objection that is raised against milk drinking, then it's more about natural hormones in the milk/egg that is intended for a calf/chick. Not artificially introduced hormones.

I somehow missed the fact that you were the same person I replied to initially. That in itself is almost poetic in regard to the state of society that you allude to.

Thanks! Those explanations seem reasonable. Certainly more reasonable than extraterrestrials. I was under the impression that the radar data that concluded insane speeds was aggregated from multiple sources. If that's not the case (as

What's interesting about the Nimitz incident is that sensor malfunction seems unlikely given that a number of different sensors placed at different ships and aircraft registered the same thing. Now, that thing was probably not an alien

It's interesting to ponder for sure, but be careful to not fall into a Deepak Chopra-style hole. The observer effect is so viciously perfect for misunderstanding, mysticism and exploitation. I'm not very informed when it comes to

I think basic math is just a natural part of most languages, since it describes a useful aspect of reality. Similar to distance, space or existence. I'd hazard that most languages has ways of expressing those concepts as well. The fun

So many apologists here. If you liked the game, that's fine. I did too. I'm lucky to play on PC. But there should be consequences for not delivering anything close to what was promised to customers that has paid in advance. Game c

As long as it's flagged "Show HN", it's all good. You shouldn't be taking it more seriously than it is. I bet you don't have the same response when someone posts some other pet project of bouncing balls in WebG

I completely agree with everything you've said. My main point is that I suspect this is a natural development even with all economic incentives and Algorithms set aside. Facebook et. al. are capitalizing on social psychology that would

Is it avoidable though? Social media might be accelerating the development of echo chambers, but the underlying reason why it works is because people seem to enjoy tribalism. I'm not sure that connecting people globally could end up in

Don't get me wrong, most of the time they read the instructions and everything works great. No issue. But the uncalled-for rejections happens enough that we can never feel confident. As I say, it's a major nuisance, but it isn

Yeah. The increasing reliance on BankID in Sweden is a blessing and a curse. For us swedes born into the system it's incredibly convenient. On the flip side I've heard my fair share of horror stories from expats that get locked ou

That certainly sounds less than ideal. I have also had a few interactions of this nature with Google, and unless you have contacts in the company or have some sort of partnership, it's very hard to get any form of manual intervention.

The ID login flow is basically UI-less. The user taps the login button, a separate identification app (that basically all swedes have) is launched, and as soon as the authentication is completed the user is navigated to the logged in view.
