Haha. I bought my car in San Diego and drove across the country to Florida. I recently did a trip up to NY/VT and back (to FL). I do smaller, random weekend trips. I drove to Jacksonville and back this weekend. I do often drive around

Interesting. Yup, if that was my experience, I would hate driving cars as well. I’m able to drive pretty much on autopilot. Plus, I don’t feel I’m wasting time listening to podcasts/audiobooks because I’m “doing something/headed s

Getting a nice car. I’m prone to depression if I stay in the house too long. Having a nice car means when I roll out of bed in the morning, I’m able to head straight to a nice, comfortable, private, warm space and start listening to meaning

Cool idea. I recommend dis-requiring sign in/log in, so a user can experience some of the tutorials. It asked me to log in, then I just closed out of it.

I left my job a few months ago due to getting depressed from working from home so much. Since then, I’ve been searching for ways to “fill up the day”, as I’m not working for 8 hours anymore. I’ve been searching for some other “anchor” activ

I suffered from problem 1. I was able to steamroll my way through calculus II. Then I hit a brick wall in calculus III and came to the harsh realization that I had simply rote memorized everything up to that point. I resolved to actually un

Yeah, top-down programming is useful for understanding recursion, e.g. "wishful thinking". I think Jerry Sussman describes this beautifully in this SICP lecture snippet https://youtu.be/amf5lTZ0UTc?t=3501 "..

Ah, good question. Alt + 2 gets you 2. If you press 2 by itself, then you get tab. A similar thing with 3. If you press 3 and release it, you get 3. If you hold 3 and press another key k, then you get Ctrl+k. This works by using the "t

I, myself, went down a similar rabbit hole years ago. I could probably write a similarly long blog post, detailing all the twists and turns, highs and lows of that period. Reading this was kinda triggering some repressed PTSD from it lol. T

Can you elaborate on your dev support role? Seems like this would be less flexible than a dev role. I’m asking because I’m interested in support roles as well. What’s the company and name of the position?

Thanks for sharing. If you enjoyed this, you will probably also enjoy Models by Mark Manson. I’m only 1/3 of the way through, but the topic of focusing on your strengths rather than changing yourself is a theme throughout the book.

I was scrolling through amazon video rental last night and I was surprised to see an anti-vax documentary in their “highest rated” section. When I clicked “more movies like this”, there were dozens of similar documentaries that came up.
