To save a visit: they use turnstile, a captcha replacement. The checkbox with verify you are a human. I would call that a captcha, but it is debatable if a non-puzzle check is.

I think Larry Wall mentioned something like this regarding perl. Things can only be intuitive after learning them. I do not think it is syntax you are complaining about either. Some constructs in Haskell reference a certain model (monads, l

Not trying to deny your experience, but Rust also has match. https://doc.rust-lang.org/rust-by-example/flow_control/match...

Malla in Spanish is a wire mesh, like the one you see when people dive with sharks. Maybe it is a double layer of wire mesh? Did I solve it? :)

Why would spinning containers remove the benefits? Presumably there is a terminal too interacting with the containers.

I think the first versions of python were implemented in lisp. I believe this is why docstrings are the same in both.

I think these kind of tasks where many people are asked to review but nobody owns it are the problem. One assumes others reviewed it and then they might review them superficially. You could give $100 per typo found and I bet that first page

I believe some dashes would make that even more correct English. Normally whatever is acting as an adjective ie "donut-eating relative" but with such a long example it seems a bit trickier.

The flash player leaked memory. The longer-running the app, the more noticeable it was. I believe this is why Adobe Air (flash player packaged as deliverable) failed. As for the speed of the flash player itself it was quite good.

Any useful program has side-effects. IMHO the point is to isolate the part of the code that has the side-effects as much as possible, and keep the rest purely functionsl. That makes it easier to debug, test, and create good abstractions. Lo

I wonder what you think of components. Back in the day it was heresy to mix css html and js. Everything was separated. Nowadays a component mixes them all. In a way, it is exactly the example opposite of what you mention.
