I think it's not about lying, but very often software upgrades are not backward compatible, in that case, everybody should upgrade, that's all. It is probably more intuitive concept for the mainstream market than saying "a h

IMHO such planned improvements shouldn't be called hard forks, it's a kind misleading for folks outside cryptocurrencies.

Google also is trying to wipe out any reference they can to youtube downloaders. The publisher's Adsense account may get suspended/terminated if they link to (or mention!) any well-known youtube downloaders.

As far as I know, it's possible open an anonymous LLC, but to open a bank account must disclose the owners.

Me too. For the sake of sanity we should stick with async / await and forget the time we had to choose from dozens of different ways of doing async code (most of time requiring tedious wrappers). Lets the winner takes it all.

I'm not quite sure if it's good practice. We have many elegant/flexible alternatives to do things like this.

Me too. I've been renting servers for over 10 years. By the way is fairly common DCs with very high uptime (between 99.999% - 100% over 5 years or more), especially in cities with high connectivity like Ashburn/VA or Dallas/T

That's a lot a bandwidth for a single thing. Makes me wonder, perhaps we should have a global repository of popular web libraries for browsers, all of them versioned, like happens on npm/bower. It's possible be backwards comp

Here in Brazil some big publishers are struggling to survive as well. Many brands are spending more online, that usually means spending at FB. For many reasons making money from advertising is harder than ever, but IMHO the biggest reason i

I suffered from intense pain on wrist/arm. After starting the gym (weight lifting + cardio), the problem ended. Zero. I mean, it's been 10 years without ANY pain. The benefits are many for those who work sitting all day long.

I'm a Portuguese native speaker. I saw a clear improvement, but I noticed errors to identify who is the subject of the context. Unlike English which the subject always is explicit (repeating a lot the pronouns I, you, they, e etc) in P

It's complicated a one-fits-all solution. We ended using the S3 as storage back-end to provision, also to get a single cert for all frontend instances.

Google finally is taking a step over the cloud offerings. I was skeptical about them ~1.5 year ago, they where only following the AWS without big innovations.

I think the best practice is isolate the GitLab from others applications in it's own container/VM.

I've been using the GitLab Community Edition for about ~1 yr. It's an amazing experience so far. Even the upgrade is really simple (just a apt-get upgrade!). Best of luck to you guys.

Unfortunately, KairosDB doesn't do rollups automatically. That sucks, but the performance still works fine for me. Space isn't a issue, Cassandra handles it pretty well. You can set retention policy per data point (TTL) if you nee

Check out KairosDB. Run on top of Cassandra. It's pretty stable, easy to maintain and update. Comes with some limitations, but still worthy to check out if fits your usage. The server itself is stateless which is great for HA and scali
