I'm not absolving YouTube (or any other media platform) of blame, but I really don't see a good solution here. We've already seen how devastating misinformation can be; however, I still tend to err on the side of freedom of s

It’s quite likely that we do, in fact, lack free will. To be honest, not even sure how free will would work in theory.

My sentiments exactly. The extra couple of hours a day in commute time / getting ready alone is worth it. I can immediately jump off my computer at 5 and book, I'm with my kids. Not to mention, I'm already making near Silicon

This strikes me as pretty much the reverse of reality. > Some people just trust their natural immune system. It's the best thing humans have had for dealing with any sort of sickness since the beginning of time. You don't think

What kind of logic is this? Nobody can save up to buy real estate for profit?

What you are describing doesn't sound like a typical "turning off work" situation. Startups, as you know, are a different animal. Are you sure startups are what you want to be doing? Being all-consuming is kinda the nature of

To be clear, I don't "see" comments like this. It's pretty specific to engaging content that is apt to be visualized. i.e. I don't tend to visualize books or passages that aren't as engaging to me.

I wonder if those with aphantasia tend to hate reading novels. For me, once I get into a book I basically "see" it playing out in my head and I won't even notice that I'm reading words. I could totally understand how it

This just doesn't strike me as "professional" whatever that means. I'm supposed to talk to an avatar of my co-worker when I can already just have a video call with them? I don't see what problem this is solving.

Basically, the prevalence of smartphones means we can record pretty much anything at anytime. Therefore, if abductions happen with any regularity, surely at least one would be captured on camera.

This made me scratch my head too. I see so many startups come up with an idea/product and then try to make it fit in the market. That is completely backwards; you need to find a problem that the market has and create a product that sol

Hard work is just a prerequisite. Tons of people work just as hard as Gates/Musk but don't get the lucky breaks for whatever reason. I would posit that luck is THE differentiator between these people, not hard work.

Just finished a Udemy course on Rust, and now I'm going through the rust book. Just taking it slower this time, doing ALL the examples and trying stuff for myself. It's going way better than my first attempt about a year ago.
