Can’t read this without thinking about the founders I know who started (and are still running) a successful unicorn. When they were founding this unicorn, they applied to YC and were rejected. Why, I’ll never know, but they’re both fairly i

The ability to drink cow’s milk evolved relatively recently, in the past 7,500 years or so. But that ability made you so much more likely to survive and reproduce that it quickly came to dominate Europe. Obviously we don’t know what traits

What I’ve learned from reading this article is that among things named after a Bernoulli: - if it has to do with physical forces related to air pressure, it’s named after Daniel Bernoulli. - If it’s math, it’s named after Jacob Bernoulli. O

I ran arch for a little while and really did not like it. Of the ~10 distros I’ve used over the years, Arch was by far the least stable. Turns out I don’t want to be the alpha tester for every piece of software on my machine. A distro like

By no means does this little nit invalidate the entire article. But since this article is a grab-bag of separate points, we can only critique point by point. I do think the bad cite weakens this one point—if there were better studies in sup

Digging into the study now. It was very small: the subjects were 16 office workers. They analyzed between-subjects rather than within-subjects, which seems a little suspicious given that within-subjects is more interesting and given Wansink

I like OCaml quite a lot so I’m F#-curious but I don’t know anything about the .NET environment and don’t currently have any need to program on Windows. What are the trade-offs between OCaml and F# for programming on Linux?
